Aaron Judge is Pumped for the 2020 MLB Season, and Not Just Because of Baseball
Following months of uncertainty, the 2020 MLB regular season will begin on Thursday night. That will see star outfielder Aaron Judge be among the first to kick of the campaign with the New York Yankees taking on the defending World Series champion Washington Nationals. However, Judge has his high level of excitement also directed toward another upcoming event that has nothing to do with baseball.
2020 MLB Season set to finally begin
When the MLB postponed the 2020 season due to concerns over the coronavirus, there wasn’t any certainty it would return.
Things further shifted in the wrong direction with the dialogue between the players’ union and the MLB souring at certain junctures in the last few weeks. That saw talk around a possible bubble situation like the NBA has in Orlando, but that never came to fruition. There was the real possibility that the 2020 season could experience what happened in 1994.
Instead, the two sides got back to the table to work it out to agree on a 60-game regular season. There are still details to hammer out concerning the postseason setup as a 16-team bracket has been tossed around. That should get handled in the coming days, which more importantly, baseball is back in the mix.
Aaron Judge is buzzing about Logic’s No Pressure album
The New York Yankees are getting the privilege to start the shortened 2020 season with a matchup against the Washington Nationals.
That has generated tremendous buzz from the players to get back on the field to begin the quest for the 2020 World Series title. However, star outfielder Aaron Judge has voiced his excitement for the upcoming release of the album entitled “No Pressure” by rapper Logic. Judge posted fire emojis after the tracklist was revealed on Wednesday.
There has been plenty of excitement around that album as Logic announced last week that it would be his last as he steps into retirement to focus on being a father. It’s a move that he will transition into after nearly a decade in the music business that has seen him become a prominent rapper. No Pressure will mark his sixth studio album and first since dropping Confession of a Dangerous Mind last year.
Logic will stream a release party on his Twitch platform on Thursday night, with it expected to be released at midnight EST.
Yankees’ expectations for 2020 season
The start of the 2020 season quickly shifts the attention over to the expectations for each team.
The Yankees are billed as being one of the top teams in the league. Many anticipate them making a strong run toward securing another AL East division title and could hold one of the best marks in the shortened campaign. Aaron Judge will play a significant part of the puzzle for the Yankees’ success that goes well beyond the regular season.
The 28-year-old missed much of the 2019 season due to injury and finally appears to be healthy. Judge has proven to be one of the most-fear hitters that is a core piece to the Yankees’ bright future. In the last three full seasons, Judge has earned a pair of All-Star selections, AL Rookie of the Year honors, a Silver Slugger award, and a Wilson Defensive Player o the Year award. He broke several impressive records, such as being the first player to tally 45 home runs, 100 RBI, and 100 runs scored.
If Judge can remain healthy, he should be in line to put forth an impressive bounce-back campaign that could put him in the MVP conversation.
