Aaron Rodgers Has Packers Fans Raving About What He Just Said

In the weeks leading into the 2020 season, many overlooked the Green Bay Packers as a potential Super Bowl contender in the stacked NFC. The Packers got off to an impressive start in Week 1 that has garnered much optimism around the franchise. Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has taken that up another notch after his recent comments concerning one of his teammates.

Aaron Rodgers’ stellar Week 1 performance

Throughout the offseason, the Packers dealt with lingering chatter around Aaron Rodgers’ long-term future.

Rodgers answered the call against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 behind a convincing 43-34 win behind completing 32-of-44 passes for 364 yards with four touchdowns to zero interceptions and a 127.5 quarterback rating. According to NFL Research, his performance was the fifth career game that he had at least 350 passing yards, four touchdown passes, and zero interceptions.

It’s a mark that tied him for third all-time since 1950, which he only trails fellow future Hall of Famers Drew Brees (11) and Tom Brady (10) entering Week 1 action. Rodgers’ strong outing to begin the 2020 season isn’t the only thing that has Packers fans extremely excited.

Aaron Rodgers glowingly praises Davante Adams

Over the last few seasons, it has seen the emergence of Packers’ wide receiver Davante Adams earning the reputation as one of the game’s best talents.

Adams has developed strong chemistry on the field with Aaron Rodgers that has led to much success. According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Rodgers voiced that his connection with the Pro Bowl wideout has many shades of his relationship with former Packers’ fan-favorite Jordy Nelson.

“I’ve worked hard and Davante has as well with our communication to where I feel like games like [Sunday] are possible. He had a couple plays during the game today that kind of reminded me of the connection Jordy and I had, especially with an outside receiver, just little, subtle adjustments, especially with his angles at the top of stems was pretty fun to see us connect on.”

The connection between Rodgers and Nelson featured several highly productive campaigns for the wide receivers. The former Pro Bowler was one of the NFL’s most consistent receiving options. It includes four 1,000 receiving yard seasons and three with double-digit receiving touchdowns over five years.

There has been a strong bond developed between Rodgers and Adams, especially over the last four years. It has seen the Fresno State product register north of 990 receiving yards three times. That includes a career-best 1,386 receiving yards on 111 receptions and 13 touchdowns in 2018.

Beyond that, Rodgers’ high praise signifies that Adams has clear separation as the franchise’s top receiving option and a bright future.

Packers Fans Just Got a Promising Message About Aaron Rodgers

Heading into the 2020 season, there sprung much doubt around the Packers replicating the same level of success.

Green Bay has begun on the right foot with a strong Week 1 performance. It showcased that Rodgers can still perform at an elite level while guiding the franchise to wins behind his arm. The front office may not have added more talent to the offense through the draft or free agency. All that places importance on the development of Marquez Valdez-Scantling and Allen Lazard.

Aaron Jones will continue to handle the primary backfield duties which should see him put forth another Pro Bowl-caliber campaign. Ultimately, the Packers’ success in the 2020 season will be dictated by Rodgers’ performance as he holds the key to their Super Bowl hopes.
