During the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Toyota dealership, McMinnville’s mayor officially declared October 1 as “Damian Lillard Day” in “recognition of Damian’s long-standing, beloved presence in Oregon,” stated the Toyota representative. Lillard has expressed his love for Oregon, and he does not see himself leaving anytime soon.
He’s using his platform to impact the game of basketball and impact the community he’s a part of. The Portland Trail Blazers made a big decision in drafting a mid-major point guard in the first round of the 2012 NBA draft.
