Hall of Fame Player Breaks Down Why He Chose LeBron James Over Michael Jordan

In his 17th season, LeBron James has accomplished a lot. Coming into the league out of high school, he was regarded as a top NBA prospect, and he lived out to the hype. James has matured a lot during his time in the NBA, and his game has improved as well.

He recently won his fourth NBA title when the LA Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals. Hall of Fame player Dave Bing said that he would rather play with James than Michael Jordan and explained why.

A look at Dave Bing’s successful career in the NBA

Bing started his NBA career in 1966 when the Detroit Pistons selected him with the second pick in the 1966 NBA draft. He put together an impressive season as a rookie, averaging 20 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. He was named the Rookie of the Year after his first season. The next season he continued to succeed as he led the league in scoring, averaging 27.1 points per game.

He spent his first 10 seasons playing for the Pistons and became one of the top players in the franchise’s history. During his time in Detroit, he averaged 22.6 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.2 rebounds. He was a three-time All-NBA selection with the Pistons, and he played in six All-Star games.

After his time in Detroit, he spent two seasons playing for the Washington Bullets. Bing averaged 13.7 points and 5.3 assists in his two seasons with the Bullets. He finished his career with the Boston Celtics, and in his lone season with the team, he averaged 13.6 points and 3.8 assists. The talented guard was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990.

LeBron James has accomplished a lot throughout his career

There’s no question that James will be in the Hall of Fame when his career is over. He has built an impressive resume during his NBA career. James won his first NBA championship with the Miami Heat in 2012, and he won his second title the following year. After winning two titles in Miami, he decided to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he helped Cleveland win their first title in franchise history in 2016 after they defeated the Golden State Warriors.

When he joined the Lakers in 2018, he was determined to bring a title back to LA. After battling with injuries during the 2018-19 season, James returned the next season to lead his team to the title. For his career, James is averaging 27.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists. He will continue to dominate throughout the remainder of his career.

Bing appeared on The Jalen & Jacoby Show and talked about LeBron James and Michael Jordan. The Jordan vs. James debate will be a discussion for years to come, and the debate will never go away. During the show, Bing selected who he wanted to play with between Jordan and James. He decided to go with James.

“If I had to choose who I would want to play with, I think it would be LeBron,” he said. “I say that because LeBron plays the whole floor the whole game. He was not the kind of scorer that MJ was, but I think as a consummate player both ends of the court, the offensive end and defensive end, he did some things statistically that MJ didn’t do.”

Bing knows what it takes to be successful in the league, and you can argue that you would have success playing with Jordan or James. At the end of the day, Jordan and James are two of the best players in NBA history.
