Benavidez’s story isn’t an unusual one. He began fighting in smaller MMA organizations before he made it to the UFC. However, unlike most UFC fighters, Benavidez is one of the best who’s never won a belt. He’s had four chances at winning. Since the two worked in Vegas, they eventually met each other in 2009, according to MEAWW. It’s not clear when they started dating each other, but their chemistry was abundantly apparent. In 2010, after Benavidez choked out Wagnney Fabiano, Olivi interviewed him. The pair have been inseparable ever since.
Benavidez proposed to Olivi in 2014. A year later, they got married. While they currently don’t have any children, they’re proud parents to their dog, Ben. Although Benavidez has never won gold, his successful career has earned a lot of money. Similarly, Olivi’s UFC job is quite lucrative. She continues to do interviews and host shows.

In fact, one time, she waited in a hotel kitchen for 17 minutes, which was exactly how long Benavidez’s fight could’ve been, before returning to the arena to meet him.
That said, Olivi is a professional journalist for a reason. When they work on the same night, she’s as professional as she always is. But, when she’s not working and she decides to watch Benavidez fight, Olivi is nothing but supportive. Even after his devastating losses to Figueiredo, she was by his side consoling her husband.
This kind of love isn’t a one-way street, either. Although her career isn’t as dangerous as his job is, Benavidez supports Olivi as much as she supports him. They often publicly encourage each other on social media too.
