How Much Did Kobe Bryant Make in His NBA Career

The world was shocked and saddened when basketball legend Kobe Bryant, along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others, were tragically killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. Kobe brought so much to the world of basketball, and during his 20 years with the Los Angeles Lakers, he had one of the best careers in the history of the NBA.

In 1,346 regular-season games, Kobe averaged 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. As if that weren’t great enough, he was also the recipient of an MVP award and played in 18 all-star games. To say that Kobe helped lead his team to many victories is quite an understatement, and although he had been retired for several years, there is no doubt that he will be greatly missed. After that long of a career, all of it as one of the best players in the game, Kobe Bryant earned a fortune playing in the NBA. Let’s see how much.

Kobe Bryant came to the NBA straight out of high school

It seems like just yesterday that Kobe was doing amazing things on the court as a student at Lower Merion High School near Philadelphia. Graduating in 1996, he skipped college and was drafted number 13 by the Charlotte Hornets. The team immediately traded the star player to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he spent his entire professional career.

Bryant soon established himself as one of the best NBA players to be drafted out of high school, as he was only the second young student ever to do so in the mid-1990s. Even before the age of 20, he was drawing huge crowds, setting records, and making history as he scored points and kept fans on the edge of their seats at every game.

The highlights of Kobe Bryant’s career

Kobe was an NBA legend who will never be forgotten. His career was just spectacular, with highlights, achievements, and honors that others can only dream of. He was a five-time NBA Champion, the 2008 NBA MVP, a two-time NBA scoring champion, and the all-time leading scorer of the Lakers. His list of career highlights goes on and on, and even in his early years, Kobe started doing great things — he won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 1997.

As every basketball fan is well aware, Kobe held another record right up until the night before his untimely death. Just hours before the tragic crash, Bryant happily tweeted his congratulations to LeBron James for passing him on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. James did so with 33,644 points, an impressive number, and naturally, Kobe was among the first to recognize the great honor.

Kobe Bryant did fantastic things from the first time he ever set foot on the court, and even after he retired from the sport.
