Victor Oladipo making a name for himself in the NBA
Oladipo enjoyed a successful college career at Indiana. He spent three years at Indiana and became one of the top players in college basketball during his time at Indiana. Oladipo wowed the fans with his explosiveness during games, and he always played at a high-level. He had a breakout season in his junior year. He was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and he was the co-NABC Defensive Player of the Year. He also was a consensus first-team All-American. Oladipo decided to skip his final year and enter the draft.
The Orlando Magic selected him with the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. During his first year, he spent time coming off the bench and in the starting lineup, and he averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He was named to the All-Rookie First Team. Oladipo spent three years in Orlando before he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He spent one season with the Thunder starting in all 67 games averaging 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. The next season he was on the move again, and this time it was to Indiana.
In his first season with the Pacers, he led the league in steals with 2.4 per game, and he averaged a career-high in scoring at 23.1 points per game. He also was named to his first All-Star Team and was named the Most Improved Player. Throughout his career, Oladipo continues to show improvement in his game.
Battling through adversity during his career
Oldaipo was having a lot of success during his career. During the 2018-19 season, he was off to a good start. In January of 2019, he suffered from a ruptured quad tendon in his right knee and was ruled out the remainder of the season. He underwent surgery five days after he suffered the injury.
Even though he was injured, he still made the All-Star team as a reserve. Oladipo put in a lot of work to get back to full strength, and he was determined to get back on the court with his team. He made his return on Jan. 29, coming off the bench. Oladipo scored nine points in an overtime win over the Chicago Bulls. He originally announced that he was going to sit out for the NBA restart, but he decided to join his team.

Oladipo really became dedicated toward his singing career a few years after his NBA career started. Singing is something that he’s always doing, and he showcases his singing ability on his social media. In 2017 he released an EP titled ‘Songs for You,’ and the next year he released his debut album ‘V.O.’ It wasn’t long before the NBA world knew of Oladipo’s singing ability.
Oladipo participated in a singing competition called ‘The Masked Singer.’ It’s a competition where celebrities are in costumes and sing songs, but no one knows who they are, and judges try to guess who the person is. Oladipo was on season two, and he finished in fifth place. He has that true R&B sound, and he’s very dedicated to his music. Some NBA players pursue music outside of their basketball career, and Oladipo is one of them.
