Is Tom Brady a Billionaire?

Tom Brady dominates the football field, but where does he stand at the bank? As one of the best New England Patriots ever, we expect him to have a lot of money. But has Brady reached billionaire status?

What is Tom Brady’s net worth?

Unfortunately, Brady isn’t a billionaire yet. His current net worth is $180 million. But with his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, the couple has a combined net worth of over half a billion.

The fourth highest-paid player in NFL history, Brady has earned $217.2 million from football over his 19-year career. He also brings in a lot of money from all of his endorsements. About $8 million a year comes from brands like Under Armor, Beats by Dre, and Intel.

In 2017, Brady worked with the luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin to promote the model DB11, worth around $211,995. He also teamed up with them to design a custom Tom Brady Edition of the Vanquish S Volante. To keep demand high, only 12 of the custom vehicles were produced and they sold for $360,000 each.

Although it’s hard to make a billion dollars from pro sports alone, it isn’t unheard of for an athlete to become a billionaire. Michael Jordan is one. But the NBA legend worked hard to develop projects outside of sports that would bring him a large paycheck.

Unfortunately, athletes can’t continue playing forever, so it’s important to develop a plan for retirement. Jordan has done this with great success, and Brady may be headed in the same direction.

In 2017, Brady visited with billionaire investor Warren Buffett. Many believe they discussed strategies for Brady’s future financial success. Buffett has been known to mentor other athletes on financial strategies, such as LeBron James

At 42 years old, Brady still has plenty of time to build his assets and become a billionaire. This is especially true as he’s planning to continue playing football for a least a few more years. According to Brady, 45 may be a good age to retire. “I always said my mid-40s,” he told ESPN. “… If I get there and I still feel like I do today, I don’t see why I wouldn’t want to continue.”

Money isn’t Tom Brady’s top priority

Brady has plenty of money, but it’s not his top priority. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Brady gave some insight into his true priorities. “I think the thing I’ve always felt for me in my life,” he said, “Winning has been a priority. And my wife makes a lot of money.”

Sounds like Brady is willing to let Bündchen be the breadmaker, as long as he can continue dominating the football field. With a current net worth of $400 million, Bündchen can support them for the rest of their lives. But Brady’s NFL success means he’ll have plenty of future money-making opportunities.
