Jeremy Lin Has ‘No News’ About a Possible NBA Comeback Attempt

Veteran point guard Jeremy Lin has spoken out about wanting to make an NBA comeback.

For now, Lin will have to continue waiting on his dreams of playing basketball in the United States again. Lin, who spent last season in China, previously hinted at ‘big decisions’ coming in free agency.

With the NBA regular season quickly approaching tip-off, here is the latest on Lin’s possible return to the association.

Jeremy Lin has been open about wanting to play in the NBA again.

Lin had no intentions of leaving the United States in the first place. Teams didn’t show Lin any significant interest in the summer of 2019, however, and he spent last season overseas.

Lin was spotted working out with Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry this offseason. As a rookie, Lin played with Curry on the Warriors during the 2010-11 season.

Golden State has not been credibly linked to Lin since photos of the workout emerged.

Basketball fans hoping to see Jeremy Lin in an NBA uniform anytime soon may have to keep waiting.

Lin, who is currently working out in the United States, has tried keeping his fanbase in the loop this offseason. The South China Morning Post recently transcribed comments that Lin made on Douyin, a Chinese-language version of Tik Tok.

One viewer asked Lin if he had an update on where he was playing next season.

“Thank you everyone for supporting us. Don’t worry, as soon as I have any news I will definitely tell you. But now there is no news that I can truly share with you.”

The NBA regular season is expected to begin on December 22. Lin would need to follow COVID-19 protocols, including multiple tests, before practicing with a team.

In a typical year, Lin could try continuing his comeback hopes in the NBA G League. However, it is not yet known if the NBA G League will play this season.

As of Dec. 14, 2020, neither the G League nor the NBA has formally announced how the minor leagues will work this year.

Major League Baseball did not have a minor league season in 2020. Top prospects, veterans, and depth players worked at a nearby training facility to stay fresh if the team needed them.
