NBA star Kevin Durant has made a lot of money outside the game of basketball. He has invested in multiple companies and has even branched out into the film industry doing some executive producing.
Durant is one player who has found other ways to make money. In 2016 he invested in Postmates, and just recently, he found out that he is going to make a lot of money from that investment.

On the basketball court, Durant has dominated over the last few years. He has won multiple NBA titles and multiple Finals MVP awards. Durant has established himself as one of the best players in the game. The Golden State Warriors had a good shot a winning a third consecutive title if Durant did not get injured. Looking at Durant’s resume, he has been successful since he was playing in high school.
In college, he was the National Player of the Year at Texas, and during his first season in the NBA, he was named Rookie of the Year. Durant has had his share of success throughout his career. He was twice named the USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year in 2010 and 2016, and he won the NBA MVP award in 2014. When you look at professional athletes who have had success in their sports, Durant is one of the top athletes on that list.

According to their website, Thirty Five Ventures serves as the umbrella for all of their business interests across sports, tech, culture, and more. Durant has been heavily involved in the business aspect of his company over the last few years.
The company has done multiple projects, including the award-winning Fox Sports Documentary ‘Q Ball.’ Thirty Five Ventures have partnered with the likes of Showtime and Apple in creating documentaries. Some people think that professional athletes focus solely on playing their sport, but that is not the case.
Kevin Durant invested in Postmates in 2016, and now it’s paying off
In 2016, Durant decided to invest in Postmates because of one reason. In an interview with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Durant talked about how he discovered what Postmates was. Durant talked about how he and his agent/business partner Rich Kleiman were sitting down one day, and Durant told Kleiman that he was hungry. That’s when Kleiman told Durant what Postmates was, and Durant immediately became interested. They were able to get in contact with someone from Postmates, and the rest is history.
Now four years later, Durant is making millions from his investment with Postmates. Recently reported by Bloomberg, Uber agreed to acquire Postmates in a $2.65 billion takeover. Durant invested $1 million back in 2016, and if Uber finalizes the deal, he will receive $15 million. The NBA star continues to make big moves off the court.
