At the start of the season, he was the No. 1 receiver and knew how to make big plays on the field. He had the speed to get open, and he had good hands as well.

Early in the season, Walker-Scott had to play quarterback because all of the other quarterbacks were dealing with injuries. He spent time playing quarterback while he was in high school, so he was the best player to fill the spot. During his time at quarterback, he three for 199 yards and three touchdowns. When the starting quarterback returned, Walker-Scott moved back to receiver.

Walker-Scott finished the season with 40 receptions for 456 yards and four touchdowns. He led the team in receptions, receiving yards and was tied for first in touchdowns. Walker-Scott was named to the all-conference team after his performance during his sophomore season.

Walker-Scott went through a lot during his time at Laney

Walker-Scott was not an ordinary student-athlete at Laney College. He had a full-time job working at Wingstop, he was a full-time student, and he was a football team member. Walker-Scott juggled all of that and was still able to perform well on the football field. Not to mention he was living out of his car. That’s right, one of the team’s top players was homeless. One thing that Walker-Scott didn’t do was give up.

Walker-Scott and his father fell out while he was in high school, and by the time he graduated from high school, he was living on his own. During the series, Walker-Scott expressed how much he did not want anything to do with his father. He wanted to get out of California because he didn’t want to live in the same state as his father. It was so bad that he could have gone to any school in California for free because of his father, but he did not want to live in California anymore. So Walker-Scott had to deal with all of that and still play on the football team.

Not to mention he was living out of his car during the season. As the season went on, Walker-Scott did not receive many interests from schools and he started to worry about his future. Football was his life, and that’s something he enjoyed doing. He believed that football could get him out of California and experience something new. Walker-Scott could have just given up on football, but he didn’t do that. All he needed was an opportunity, and he was going to make the most of it.
