LeBron James Showed His Support For the Dodgers During Game 1 of the World Series

The LA Dodgers made their third World Series in the last four years and are taking on the Tampa Bay Rays. LA wasted no time in Game 1 as they won 8-3. One NBA star was tuned in during the World Series’ first game, and that was LeBron James.

James, who recently won the NBA title with the Lakers, went to Twitter to show his support of the Dodgers.

LeBron James helped turn the Lakers franchise around

In his second season with the Lakers, James was on a mission to bring a title back to the organization. Before 2020, the Lakers’ last title came in 2010. The 2019-20 Lakers team had a lot of talent and had two of the top players in the league in James and Anthony Davis. With the team that he had, James knew that he could compete for an NBA title. Throughout the season, the Lakers were one of the best teams in the league. Even entering the NBA bubble, the Lakers still proved to the rest of the league that they’re here to win a title.

The Lakers went into the NBA Playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and dominated their opponents leading up to the NBA finals. In the first three rounds, the Lakers lost one game during each series. James knew he had to step up in a big way to put his team in a position to compete for a championship, and that’s what he did. The Lakers advanced to the NBA Finals and took on the Miami Heat.

James helped lead the Lakers to their 17th overall NBA title, and he won his fourth overall title. During the finals, James averaged 29.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists. He led his team in all three categories and was named the Finals MVP for the fourth time in his career. James did what he said he was going to do when he joined the Lakers, winning a championship.

The Dodgers trying to join the Lakers and become another LA team to win a championship

The Dodgers find themselves in familiar territory competing for a World Series title. LA last played in the World Series in 2018 when they lost to the Boston Red Sox. This year, the Rays are standing in the way of the Dodgers winning their seventh World Series title in franchise history. The Dodgers have dominated throughout the entire 2020 season, and now they are that much closer to winning the title.

During the Dodgers last two appearances in the World Series, they came up short as they went to the World Series in back-to-back years in 2017 and 2018. There’s no question that the Dodgers have been one of the top baseball teams in previous years. But they haven’t been able to win a title. This year could be different.
