LeBron James went to the Cleveland Cavaliers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft, and he became a superstar immediately. He ultimately won the 2003-04 Rookie of the Year award and then became an All-Star in 2004-05. James has earned an All-Star selection in every season since then, too.

James then spent seven seasons with the Cavaliers. He led the NBA in points per game while in Cleveland in 2007-08 and led the Cavs to the NBA Finals in 2006-07. However, in 2010-11, James went to the Miami Heat and really became the legendary player he is today. He appeared in four consecutive NBA Finals with the Heat and won two championships.

In 2014-15, James then returned to the Cavaliers and went to four more straight NBA Finals, making it eight consecutive trips in total. He and the Cavaliers then won the title in 2016. LeBron James then joined the LA Lakers in 2018-19 and won his fourth NBA championship in 2019-20. He also led the NBA in assists per game in 2019-20.

Overall, for his career, James has earned 16 All-Star selections, four league MVP awards, and four Finals MVP awards. He is also third in NBA history in total points, eighth in total assists, and fifth in career triple-doubles. James’ 27 points-per-game career average is also fifth in league history.

James has accomplished a great deal on the basketball court. This has also helped him become pretty wealthy.

LeBron James’ talents have led to the Cavs, Heat, and Lakers all paying him a bunch of money throughout his career.

In fact, Spotrac estimates that James has made over $330 million playing basketball since entering the NBA. That’s not including endorsements, though, as his career basketball and endorsement earnings have led to James racking up an estimated $500 million net worth, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

In 2021, James is expected to make $95.4 million between his salary and endorsements, according to Forbes. This is No. 1 in the NBA, as Stephen Curry will most likely make $74.4 million this year, and Kevin Durant should also earn $65.2 million. However, James is also expected to reach a significant career milestone this year.

According to Forbes, the $95.4 million that James will make in 2021 will help his career earnings reach the $1 billion mark, with $700 million coming from his off-court endeavors.

The milestone puts him in an exclusive club, too, as Tiger Woods, Floyd Mayweather, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi are the only other athletes to reach $1 billion in career earnings while still actively competing in their respective sports. This means that James will become the first-ever NBA player to reach that mark while still playing in the league, as Michael Jordan didn’t even accomplish that feat while still playing.

So, how does LeBron James’ net worth compare to the net worths of the other members of this club? Tiger Woods is worth an estimated $800 million, Floyd Mayweather is worth an estimated $450 million, Cristiano Ronaldo is worth an estimated $500 million, and Lionel Messi is worth an estimated $600 million.

LeBron James has a chance to accomplish a lot in 2021 with the LA Lakers. This $1 billion club achievement, though, could be his most significant.
