Michael Jordan Was Handed Random Babies by Parents Who Thought He Could Transfer His ‘Magical Power’ to Them

A case can be made that Michael Jordan is the most popular athlete of all time. Even though he hasn’t played in the NBA since 2003, Jordan remains a global icon and one of the most talked-about people on the planet.

When he was starring for the Chicago Bulls in the ’90s, Jordan couldn’t leave his house or hotel without getting mobbed by fans. His Airness couldn’t eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner in public, travel to the grocery store or mall to get some shopping done, or go to the gas station and quickly fill up his car without being spotted by someone.

Michael Jordan is one of the few people in American history who always has hundreds of people watching him walk around in public and clamoring for autographs and pictures. MJ is like a real-life version of Superman, and some parents will do whatever it takes to get their kids around the Bulls legend.

When he was playing in the NBA, Michael Jordan only got privacy in a few places. If he was at his house, hotel room, or playing golf, Jordan could relax, smoke his cigars and enjoy some peace and quiet.

However, whenever Jordan left his hotel room to go to the team bus or was standing by his locker after a game, the six-time NBA champion was hounded and could barely breathe. It got to a point where Jordan had to have his friends take his car to the gas station and fill it up for him since he didn’t want to be seen in public.

Jordan is God to many people. Several individuals believe the six-time Finals MVP has magical powers and that if he touches you, his powers will be transferred over.

When parents would bring their kids around Michael Jordan in the ’90s, they would hand their children to Jordan and ask him to touch their baby.

Michael Jordan’s trainer, Tim Grover, told a bizarre story in 2020 involving MJ and babies. The sports enhancement specialist says random babies were handed to Jordan all the time because parents thought MJ had “magical powers.”

“If you watch the old videos of The Beatles, how people used to surround them, that’s how it was with him (Jordan) wherever he went,” Grover said. “Individuals would literally hand their children and just say, ‘Touch my baby’ because they thought he had this like magical powers. It was the craziest thing.”

Grover also said that Jordan could never leave his hotel room on the road and that the golf course was the only place where he could escape the hoopla and be mentally free.

Everyone wants to be Michael Jordan. However, if you value your privacy, being MJ wouldn’t be fun at all.

His Airness was a poet on the basketball floor

Michael Jordan was a joy to watch on the basketball court. He was a poet on the hardwood and made the game look easy.

With the Bulls, Jordan averaged 31.5 points per game in the regular season. He won five MVPs and 10 scoring titles to go along with his six rings and six Finals MVPs. Jordan is one of three players in NBA history to win MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season.

He didn’t make the playoffs with the Washington Wizards, but Jordan still put up some spectacular numbers. He averaged 22.9 points in 2001-02 and 20.0 points in 2002-03.

Michael Jordan finished his NBA career with averages of 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. He means so much to the game of basketball that the Miami Heat organization retired the No. 23 in honor of Jordan’s contributions to the NBA.
