Michael Vick Reveals the 2 NFC Teams He’s Going to Tell Deshaun Watson to Request a Trade To

The Deshaun Watson era with the Houston Texans will end this offseason, as the star quarterback has formally requested a trade and doesn’t plan to change his mind about wanting out of Houston.

Former superstar gunslinger Michael Vick, who has a close relationship with Watson, wants to see the youngster join a winning team and will give his two cents on where Watson should play next.

Deshaun Watson has been betrayed by the Texans several times

The Texans organization has betrayed Deshaun Watson one too many times. The franchise traded his best option on offense, wideout DeAndre Hopkins, to the Arizona Cardinals without consulting him and lied to Watson about keeping him in the loop on the team’s general manager hire.

Watson, who has a no-trade clause in his contract, will get to choose which team he plays for next. The Texans have only themselves to blame for this mess. Had the front office not traded Hopkins and hired Nick Caserio without talking to Watson, maybe the signal-caller wouldn’t have requested a trade.

Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes is the top quarterback in the NFL. Watson is widely considered the second-best young QB in the NFL behind Mahomes, so whichever team acquires the 25-year-old is getting a franchise player who can win a Super Bowl with the right head coach.

Like many running quarterbacks, Deshaun Watson looked up to Michael Vick as a kid, which is why the two have forged a strong bond. Vick, arguably the most athletic QB of all time, is helping Watson through his trade request and wants to see the former Clemson star get traded to the NFC.

Michael Vick wants Deshaun Watson to play for the 49ers or Bears

Michael Vick told Nick Wright of FS1 that Deshaun Watson should go to the San Francisco 49ers or Chicago Bears. Both teams have stout defenses and require an upgrade at the quarterback position.

“Imma have a conversation with D-Wat later on today. We just spoke about it a few minutes ago and we gonna talk about it in totality. But look man, if I’m his agent, I’m pushing to get with the best team,” Vick said. “I’m looking to get with the San Francisco 49ers or the Chicago Bears. Need some defense, need some weapons. Those teams are short of a quarterback and a deal can be made with D-Wat.”

The 49ers are open to moving on from Jimmy Garoppolo, while the Bears desperately need a new quarterback since both Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles aren’t good. Chicago could have drafted Watson in the 2017 draft, but general manager Ryan Pace traded up to select Trubisky with the second overall pick.

Deshaun Watson led the NFL in passing yards in 2020. He would turn the 49ers or Bears into Super Bowl contenders since both teams have playmakers on offense and defense. Michael Vick never got to play in a Super Bowl during his legendary career, which is why he wants to help Watson navigate through his trade request and land with the right team.

The Bears and 49ers got poor quarterback play in 2020

After reaching the Super Bowl during the 2019 season, the 49ers regressed in 2020 and missed the playoffs. The team went 6-10, Jimmy Garoppolo struggled before getting hurt, and Nick Mullens and C.J. Beathard weren’t productive.

Meanwhile, the Bears made the playoffs in 2020 but lost to the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round. Mitchell Trubisky started the season as the starter but got benched for Nick Foles in Week 3 before getting his starting spot back after Foles got hurt in Week 10. Neither Trubisky nor Foles are the answer in Chicago.

The Bears and 49ers are expected to pursue a Deshaun Watson trade. Michael Vick is hopeful that the three-time Pro Bowler waives his no-trade clause to play for San Francisco or Chicago.
