Like thousands of professional athletes, NASCAR star Joey Logano is balancing his championship dreams with his family time.
Luckily for Logano, one doesn’t have to prioritize the other for most of the year. Logano, 30, races when he needs to and can spend the rest of his time as a family man.
In a recent tweet, Logano shared a picture of his 2-year-old son, Hudson, and hinted the younger Logano might also have a future in motorsports.

Still only 30, Joey Logano has been one of NASCAR’s most prolific drivers over the last decade.
Logano broke out during the Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway in 2008, becoming the youngest driver to win a Nationwide Series event. He won that race only 21 days after turning 18.
Logano set a similar record in 2009, when he became the youngest driver to win the Lenox Industrial Tools 301, a Sprint Cup Series event. Much like a year earlier, Logano won the event only 35 days after he turned 19.
Logano has only gotten better with age, and has 26 career victories in the NASCAR Cup Series. The veteran racer has 221 top-10 finishes and has been a constant force on the track.
Logano had a strong 2020 campaign
Since joining Team Penske in 2013, Joey Logano has six top 10 finishes in the NASCAR Cup Series standings.
Logano won the 2018 Cup Series and finished fifth last year.
In the strange year that is 2020, Logano performed at his usual high standard. Logano finished third in the Cup Series standings.
Logano had 5,034 points this season, narrowly trailing champion Chase Elliott (5,040) and Brad Keselowski (5,035). The 30-year-old Logano at least had a one-point lead over Denny Hamlin, who sits in fourth place at 5,033.
Those four were the only drivers this season who totaled 3,000 points, let alone 5,000.
Logano won three races this year and has 12 top-5 finishes.
Logano will have a chance to get back on the winning path in February. Barring any cancelations, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season begins on Tuesday, February 9, with the Clash at Daytona.
The Daytona 500 is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2021.
Joey Logano has bright dreams for his young son
With a few months until the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season begins, Joey Logano is spending the time off with his family.
Logano and his wife, Brittany Baca, welcomed their first son, Hudson, in January 2018. Their second, Jameson, was born this past May.
It is never too early for parents to start thinking about their futures, something Logano poked fun at in a recent tweet. Logano shared a picture of Hudson riding a bicycle.
“Racing is definitely in his genes!” Logano wrote, attaching an emoji for the checkered-flag. “Maybe it will be on two wheels?…”
NASCAR drivers frequently participate in races even into their late-50s. The time could come where Logano is winning the Cup Series, and Hudson is climbing the ranks of the supercross series.
Or, Joey Logano could become the Dale Earnhardt Sr. of his generation, competing against his son in NASCAR races. Oddsmakers may want to soon determine Hudson Logano’s chances of winning the 2040 Daytona 500.
