Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal Reunite for Hellmann’s Super Bowl Ad

In this nostalgic commercial, Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal reprise their roles from the 1989 romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally.”

Set in the original location of Katz’s Delicatessen in New York City, the scene mirrors the famous moment where Sally (Ryan) fakes an orgasm to prove a point to Harry (Crystal).

This time, the twist involves Ryan adding Hellmann’s mayonnaise to her turkey sandwich, leading to an enthusiastic reaction. Crystal’s character quips, “This one’s real.”

Sydney Sweeney Makes Cameo

The commercial includes a cameo by actress Sydney Sweeney, who delivers the memorable line, “I’ll have what she’s having,” originally spoken by director Rob Reiner’s mother in the film.

Sweeney’s participation adds a more modern touch to the classic scene, bridging the gap between generations.

Behind The Scenes

Reflecting on the experience, Crystal noted that filming the commercial “felt the same” as it did 35 years ago, highlighting the long-lasting chemistry between him and Ryan.

Ryan expressed appreciation for Hellmann’s respectful approach to the original film and its characters, recalling the nerves she felt during the initial shoot.
