Kylee Kitts Transfer Portal: Gamecocks Hoping to Pair Sisters Together

Kylee Kitts is entering the next chapter of her basketball career, and all signs point to Columbia. The 6-foot-4 forward has entered the NCAA transfer portal with a “do not contact” designation, typically a sign that a destination has already been chosen. Multiple sources and circumstantial evidence suggest that she’s heading to South Carolina to team up with her older sister, Chloe Kitts.
South Carolina Set to Land Kylee Kitts Because of Chloe?
The biggest factor that could take Kylee Kitts to South Carolina? Chloe. The older Kitts sister has become a key piece of Dawn Staley’s frontcourt rotation and is expected to take on an even larger role next season with departures clearing out minutes in the post. With Kylee redshirting her freshman season at Florida, this is likely the only window for the sisters to share a college court.
South Carolina is losing frontcourt players like Bree Hall, Sania Feagin, and Kamilla Cardoso, and while the Gamecocks remain deep, they have room to bring in young talent who can develop into contributors. Kylee may not be an instant-impact player, but in Columbia, she’ll be able to learn from elite coaching while practicing against top competition alongside her sister.
Why Kitts is Leaving UF
Kitts committed to Florida after reclassifying from the 2025 to the 2024 class. She arrived in Gainesville with top-30 pedigree but didn’t see the floor during the season. A coaching change and lack of opportunity likely pushed her to look elsewhere.
South Carolina offers a national platform, high-level competition, and a support system in Chloe that no other program can match.
Other Options for Kylee Kitts Inlcude Sooners, UCF, and FSU
Before her original commitment to Florida, Kitts considered programs like Oklahoma, UCF, and Florida State. All three could’ve been viable destinations this time around, with minutes available and prior interest. But the opportunity to play with her sister at a national title contender appears to have won out.
What South Carolina Gets
Kitts is raw but has length, rebounding instincts, and a solid face-up game. She’s not a finished product, but South Carolina is the right place to develop into one.
