Open Championship Live Odds: Rory McIlroy Tabbed as the Betting Favorite Heading Into the Final Round

We’ve now played three thrilling rounds at the iconic Old Course at St. Andrews, and the 2022 Open Championship seems to be coming down to a two-man race. After fantastic rounds of 66 on Saturday, Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland will both enter the final round at 16 under par and four strokes ahead of third place.
Cameron Smith, Cameron Young, Si Woo Kim, Scottie Scheffler, and Dustin Johnson are all within striking distance of the leaders, but they’ll need magical Sundays to give themselves a chance. So, heading into the final round of the 150th Open, let’s check out the live betting odds to win the Claret Jug.
Open Championship live odds: Rory McIlroy a -120 favorite to win
McIlroy hasn’t won a major championship in eight years, but he may be staring at his best chance since then heading into the final round of the British Open. After a third-round 66 that included five birdies and one eagle, he’ll tee it up on Sunday in the final group tied for the lead at 16 under.
Alongside McIlroy for the second straight day will be Hovland, who also shot a 66 and didn’t make a single bogey on Saturday.
Oddsmakers are more confident in McIlroy, who was the betting favorite entering the tournament at 10/1 odds, to get the job done on Sunday. He’s currently set as a -120 favorite to lift the Claret Jug, with Hovland right behind him at +175. Smith is next on the odds board at 10/1, but he’ll need to make up a four-shot deficit in the final round to cash that ticket.
