There are only a couple of more important dates to circle on the NFL calendar before the summer doldrums. One of them is the release of the official schedule for the upcoming 2025 season, which will take place next week.

NFL Schedule Release Set For May 14th

It is typically an exciting process for fans. While we have known the collection of opponents that each team will face since the end of last regular season, we haven’t been sure of exactly when each matchup will take place. On schedule release day, fans can begin planning trips, buying tickets, and circling the important games on their calendars for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.

The official date for this year’s NFL schedule release is Wednesday, May 14th. The process will be broadcasted on multiple networks, and there are typically studio shows that feature analysts breaking down what the newly revealed timetables mean for each team.

One of the draws to the schedule release in recent years has been the creativity of individual teams and their social media accounts. Each franchise has their own way of revealing dates for the upcoming season to their fans, some with creative spins that often go viral.

International & Holiday Games Will Be Revealed

There will be some key components that fans will look for during the release shows. There are seven international games on the slate for the 2025 NFL season, with games being played all over the globe, In addition to the traditional visits to London, there will be contests in Madrid, Berlin, Dublin, and São Paulo this year.

Eyes will also be on the choices for the holiday games. Which four teams will join the Cowboys and Lions in playing on Thanksgiving? And who will be playing on Christmas? The NFL is continuing its holiday takeover in 2025, with three games scheduled for December 25th, which falls on a Thursday this year.
