NFL: 5 Best Fantasy Football Performances in Week 6

Another week of NFL action is nearly in the books, with just the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions left to play. It was once again another slate featured several impressive fantasy football outings across the league. Without further ado, here are the five best performances from this past week in standard PPR leagues.

5. Tyreek Hill

ESPN: 25.0 Points

Following a four-week absence due to a chest injury, Hill made his presence felt in a significant way with a huge performance tallying five catches for 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He quickly showcased his big-play ability by making a phenomenal 46-yard touchdown catch on his first reception of the game.

The Chiefs’ offense has notably missed Hill over the last several weeks, and the team quickly felt his presence as he provided them with a much-needed deep-ball threat. His return brings him back into the fold as a WR1 moving forward this season.

4. Deshaun Watson

ESPN: 29.4 Points

In his third season, Watson has shown even more progress as a young rising star quarterback in the NFL. His strong start to the 2019 season has put him in the thick of the MVP discussion behind his recent stellar outings.

Coming off the best performance of his career, Watson was more than up for the challenge against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, recording 280 passing yards with a touchdown along with 10 rushes for 42 yards with a pair of touchdowns. He may have thrown two interceptions, but he continues to prove to be a fantasy football stud.

Watson has notched more than 25 fantasy points in four of his first six games while scoring at least three touchdowns in each of those outings that has fueled his17 total touchdowns this season.

3. James Conner

ESPN: 30.9 Points

The Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten out to a bit of a rough start to the 2019 season, having dropped four out of their first six games.

Injuries at the quarterback position have decimated Pittsburgh, but that hasn’t stopped Conner from turning the corner towards being one of the more productive running backs over the last few weeks. He put forth his strongest collective outing of the as he tallied 41 rushing yards on 16 carries with a touchdown and seven catches for 78 yards with a touchdown.

Conner’s production has been a roller coaster ride this season, making it difficult to trust him weekly, but he has put up three straight double-digit fantasy point outputs with at least a touchdown in each contest.

2. Matt Ryan

ESPN: 30.9 Points

It has also been a frustrating season for the Atlanta Falcons, experiencing many ups and downs along the way, but that hasn’t unhinged Ryan’s strong start to the year in fantasy football.

The Falcons fell an extra-point kick shy of forcing overtime against the Arizona Cardinals, but the Pro Bowler was magnificent in the second half. It fueled his strong outing as he completed 30-of-36 passes for 356 yards with four touchdowns to no interceptions, marking his second straight 30-point fantasy output this season.

A matchup in Week 7 against the struggling Los Angeles Rams should see him add another solid outing to what’s been a strong 2019 fantasy campaign.

1. Stefon Diggs

ESPN: 43.5 Points

It had become no secret that there was internal conflict brewing with the Minnesota Vikings throughout their early-season offensive struggles. At the forefront of that was Diggs, who publicly voiced his disgruntlement with his role and a possible desire to be traded.

All that looks to be a thing of the past as the star wideout went off with his best fantasy performance of the season and the highest single output of Week 6. Diggs tallied seven catches for 167 receiving yards with three touchdowns along with two rushes for 18 yards. The Eagles had no answer for him in the passing game as he had 62-yard and 51-yard touchdowns in the contest that fueled his huge performance.

If anything, the hope is that Diggs’ big outing will put him back on the fantasy football map as it was just his second double-digit point total of the season.
