NFL: Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes Among 5 Best Fantasy Football Performers in Week 10
Another week is nearly in the books, which once again saw several standout performances across the league. These outings could have anchored your fantasy football team to a much-needed win with the playoffs nearing the next few weeks. Without further ado, here are the top fantasy performances.
5. Patrick Mahomes
ESPN: 29.8 PTS
Following a two-week absence due to a dislocated kneecap, Mahomes made a big splash in his return as he picked up where he left off with a monstrous performance. He steadied the Chiefs offense behind 446 passing yards with three touchdowns, which also put him in theĀ NFL record books with Aaron Rodgers.
Mahomes is clearly past his injury woes, which should see him get back to being one of the most productive players in fantasy football. Kansas City may have fallen short against the Tennessee Titans, but there is certainly much to be enthused by the reigning league MVP’s performance.
4. Dalvin Cook
ESPN: 31.3 PTS
It has been nothing short of an impressive campaign for Cook as he has finally shown the type of production he can put up when healthy. He has been one of the league’s best running backs, and he put that on display in the win over the Dallas Cowboys, rushing for 97 yards with a touchdown along with hauling in seven catches for 86 receiving yards.
Cook is a legitimate dual-threat fantasy option that has notched more than 20 points all but twice this season. He is the centerpiece of the Vikings offense and will continue to be with the type of production he provides weekly.
3. Derrick Henry
ESPN: 33.1 PTS
Over the years, Henry has been a boom-or-bust type fantasy asset, but he has become a more consistent option in 2019. He put that on display against the Kansas City Chiefs as he torched their porous run defense for 188 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
That was punctuated by a 68-yard touchdown run that saw him blaze through the Chiefs’ defense after breaking a pair of tackles. Henry has notched double-digit fantasy outputs all but twice this season, and his big outing was also his second straight 20-point performance. Beyond that, Henry has undoubtedly become one of the most dependable fantasy options in the league.
2. Lamar Jackson
ESPN: 33.4 PTS
Ahead of Week 10 action, we singled Jackson as the best must-play option due to his beyond favorable matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals and oh did he go off. He torched the Bengals with his arm and legs that saw him pull off a Michael Vick-like run for a 47-yard touchdown while becoming just the second player to put up two perfect passer ratings in a single season.
Jackson flew beyond the expectations around him as he’s not only one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but a legitimate candidate for the MVP award. There is no reason to believe that he will slow down any time soon as he has cemented himself as a star in the league for many years to come.
1. Christian Kirk
ESPN: 37.8 PTS
Throughout the season, Kirk has continued to progressively rise within the Arizona Cardinals’ offensive game plan as a primary option. He finally broke through to showcase his big-play ability as he tallied six catches for 138 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Kirk torched the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ porous secondary as a deep-ball threat for rookie quarterback Kyler Murray. The stars were aligned for him to break out in a significant way after the Buccaneers defense was torched just a week ago by the Seattle Seahawks, with rookie wideout D.K. Metcalf beating them down the field.
Beyond that, this performance, which marked his fourth double-digit outing of the season, should put him in many fantasy football starting lineups moving forward.
