For all you hockey fans out there, the 2015-16 NHL season has been full of everything that makes this sport so entertaining. The speed is up, the competition is at an all-time high, and history is smiling upon one of the most impressive points streaks we’ve seen in years. It’s been a wild ride for the National Hockey League. And yet, as we all know, there’s one real reason to play the game: the Stanley Cup.

The league may be experiencing some sweet parity as of late, but that’s never stopped the oddsmakers in Vegas from trying to predict which club will hoist the Cup at the season’s end. Since there’s nothing quite like being in the know, we feel it’s our duty to pass along the information. With that in mind, here’s a look at the three teams with the best odds to win the 2016 Stanley Cup.

3. Los Angeles Kings

Odds: 8-1

Through 29 games, the Los Angeles Kings have established themselves as the team to beat in the Pacific Division. Thanks to a 19-8-2 mark, the Kings are sitting pretty with 40 points and hold a 10-point lead atop the division standings. With a goalie like Jonathan Quick between the pipes and the ability to win both at home and on the road, it’d be foolish to write off the Kings. As a result, we see no reason why Lord Stanley’s Cup can’t find its way back to Tinseltown.

2. Washington Capitals

Odds: 13-2

When you think about the Washington Capitals, it’s impossible not to fixate on the lethal scorer that is captain Alex Ovechkin. However, it’s clear that a major reason why the Caps have 42 points on the season and sit atop the Metropolitan Division is because of the sensational netminding of Braden Holtby. Not only does the 26-year-old goalie have an impressive .930 save percentage, he also leads the NHL in both goals against average (1.91) and total wins (18). If we’ve learned anything from all our years of watching hockey, it’s that you don’t win the whole thing without quality goaltending. And right now, as far as we’re concerned, no team in the NHL has more of that going for them than the Washington Capitals.

1. Dallas Stars

Odds: 11-2

As surprising as this may sound, the Dallas Stars have the look of the best team in the NHL. With big-time play from Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, who currently tie for second in the league in points with 40 a piece, the Stars have amassed a 22-6-2 record, lead the Central Division, and have the most points in the NHL with 46. There’s still plenty of time left in the 2015-16 season for things to change. However, as of right now, it’d be hard to bet against the Dallas Stars.
