Carr and the Raiders Took Care of the Browns in a Gritty 16-6 Victory

Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders took care of the Cleveland Browns in a gritty 16-6 victory, Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 in FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland. The Raiders’ win was helped by a rushing game that produced 208 yards and no rushing touchdowns, and by a 112 yards and one touchdown effort by Carr.

Carr contributed to this win by completing 15 of 24 passes, finishing the game with 112 yards, no interceptions, one touchdown and a QB rating of 87.50.

The Raiders deployed a rushing game led by Devontae Booker and Josh Jacobs. For the game, Booker carried the ball five times and rushed for 29 yards, leading to zero touchdowns. Jacobs supplemented by carrying the ball 31 times for a total of 128 yards. In the passing game, the Raiders’ top receivers were Hunter Renfrow and Henry Ruggs III. Renfrow caught four passes for a total of 26 yards, while Ruggs III contributed with eight yards from two passes.

With one forced fumble, one tackle for loss and no sacks , the Raiders got just the defensive help it needed to get the win.

Compared to Carr of the Raiders, Baker Mayfield of the Browns threw for 122 yards with no touchdowns, and zero interceptions, completing 12 of 25 passes, for a 62.40 passer rating.

The Browns’ rushing game was led by D’Ernest Johnson and Kareem Hunt. For the game, Johnson carried the ball two times, rushed for six yards, and no touchdowns. Hunt supplemented and carried the ball a total of 14 times for a total of 66 yards. Meanwhile Rashard Higgins and Jarvis Landry were the top 2 aerial passing targets for the Browns. Higgins caught one pass from Mayfield for a total of 14 yards, while Landry contributed with 52 yards from four passes.

Although their team lost the game, the Browns defense ended the game with two sacks, and one tackle for loss, to go along with one forced fumble.

The Raiders walked away from the game with an improved seasonal record of 1-0. The Browns on the other hand, dropped to 0-1 for the season.
