Carr and the Raiders Topped the Panthers in a Nail-Biting 34-30 Victory

Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders topped the Carolina Panthers in a nail-biting 34-30 victory, Sunday, Sep. 13, 2020 in Bank of America Stadium in Carolina. The Raiders’ win was helped by a rushing game that produced 133 yards and three rushing touchdowns, and by a 239 yards and one touchdown effort by Carr.

Carr finished the game with one touchdown, completing 22 of 30 passes. At the end of the day, he finished with 239 yards and no interceptions, and a passer rating of 107.50.

The Raiders deployed a rushing game led by Devontae Booker and Josh Jacobs. For the game, Booker carried the ball four times and rushed for 29 yards, leading to no touchdowns. Jacobs supplemented by carrying the ball 25 times for a total of 93 yards. In the passing game, the Raiders’ top receivers were Nelson Agholor and Henry Ruggs III. Agholor caught one pass for a total of 23 yards, while Ruggs III contributed with 55 yards from three passes.

On the defensive side of the football, the Raiders produced zero forced fumbles, three tackles for loss, one sack and zero defensive touchdowns.

In a losing effort for the Panthers, Teddy Bridgewater attempted 30 passes and completed 22 of them. This performance resulted in 270 yards, no interceptions, one touchdown and a passer rating of 98.90 for the game.

The rushing game for the Panthers was led by Christian McCaffrey and Mike Davis. For the game, McCaffrey rushed for 96 yards from carrying the football 23 times. Meanwhile Davis carried the ball 0 times for a total of zero yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Panthers included Robby Anderson and D.J. Moore. Anderson caught six passes for a total of 115 yards, while Moore contributed with 54 yards from four passes.

Although their team lost the game, the Panthers defense ended the game with zero sacks, and one tackle for loss, to go along with one forced fumble.

After this game, the Raiders improved to a record of 1-0, while the Panthers dropped to a 0-1 record. After the win, the Raiders now have a 1-0 record, compared to the Panthers who now have 0-1 record.
