The San Francisco 49ers ran away the New England Patriots in a laughable 33-6 win, Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020 in Gillette Stadium in New England. They deployed a rushing game that produced 197 yards, four rushing touchdowns, to support a Jimmy Garoppolo performance of 277 yards and zero touchdowns.
Garoppolo ended the game with 277 yards passing, to go along with zero touchdowns, two interceptions, and completing 20 of 25 passes. This performance led to a 79.50 passer rating for Garoppolo.
JaMycal Hasty and Jeff Wilson Jr. led the rushing game for the 49ers. Hasty rushed for 57 yards from carrying the football nine times. Hasty was helped by Wilson Jr. who carried the football 17 times for a total of 112 yards. In the passing game, Garoppolo was most successful throwing the ball to Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Aiyuk caught six passes for a total of 115 yards, while Samuel contributed with 65 yards from five passes.
With two forced fumbles, three tackles for loss and two sacks , the 49ers got just the defensive help it needed to get the win.
In a losing effort for the Patriots, Jarrett Stidham attempted 25 passes and completed 6 of them. This performance resulted in 64 yards, one interception, no touchdowns and a passer rating of 39.20 for the game.
The rushing game for the Patriots was led by Rex Burkhead and Damien Harris. For the game, Burkhead rushed for 12 yards from carrying the football four times.
