Riding a 239 yards total offensive output, the Washington Football Team topped the Philadelphia Eagles in a hard-fought victory of 27-17, Sunday, Sep. 13, 2020 in FedEx Field in Washington. Contributing to this victory, Dwayne Haskins threw the football for 178 yards, and one touchdown. The Football Team also had a rushing game that produced 80 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Haskins contributed to this win by completing 17 of 31 passes, finishing the game with 178 yards, zero interceptions, one touchdown and a QB rating of 82.50.
Peyton Barber and Antonio Gibson led the rushing game for the Football Team. Barber rushed for 29 yards from carrying the football 17 times. Barber was helped by Gibson who carried the football nine times for a total of 36 yards. In the passing game, Haskins was most successful throwing the ball to Steven Sims Jr. and Terry McLaurin. Sims Jr. caught three passes for a total of 50 yards, while McLaurin contributed with 61 yards from five passes.
The Football Team’ defense contributed to the win with eight sacks, three forced fumbles, four tackles for loss, and scored no defensive touchdowns.
Carson Wentz led the Eagles in a losing effort with 270 yards, completing 24 of 42 passes, two interceptions, and two touchdowns, for a QB rating of 72.50.
The rushing game for the Eagles was led by Corey Clement and Boston Scott. For the game, Clement rushed for 19 yards from carrying the football six times. Meanwhile Scott carried the ball 9 times for a total of 35 yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Eagles included Jalen Reagor and DeSean Jackson. Reagor caught one pass for a total of 55 yards, while Jackson contributed with 46 yards from two passes.
For the game, the Eagles defensive effort yielded zero forced fumbles, two tackles for loss and three sacks. This was not enough to help their team to a victory.
