Hill and the Saints Easily Defeated the Falcons in a Lopsided 24-9 Victory

Riding a 378 yards total offensive output, the New Orleans Saints easily defeated the Atlanta Falcons in a lopsided victory of 24-9, Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020 in Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Contributing to this victory, Taysom Hill threw the football for 233 yards, and zero touchdowns. The Saints also had a rushing game that produced 168 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Hill finished the game with zero touchdowns, completing 18 of 23 passes. At the end of the day, he finished with 233 yards and no interceptions, and a passer rating of 108.90.

The Saints deployed a rushing game led by Latavius Murray and Alvin Kamara. For the game, Murray carried the ball 12 times and rushed for 49 yards, leading to no touchdowns. Kamara supplemented by carrying the ball 13 times for a total of 45 yards. In the passing game, the Saints’ top receivers were Emmanuel Sanders and Michael Thomas. Sanders caught four passes for a total of 66 yards, while Thomas contributed with 104 yards from nine passes.

On the defensive side of the football, the Saints produced zero forced fumbles, one tackle for loss, eight sacks and zero defensive touchdowns.

Matt Ryan led the Falcons in a losing effort with 232 yards, completing 19 of 37 passes, two interceptions, and zero touchdowns, for a QB rating of 48.50.

The rushing game for the Falcons was led by Todd Gurley and Brian Hill. For the game, Gurley rushed for 26 yards from carrying the football eight times. Meanwhile Hill carried the ball 4 times for a total of 18 yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Falcons included Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage. Ridley caught five passes for a total of 90 yards, while Gage contributed with 58 yards from seven passes.

Although their team lost the game, the Falcons defense ended the game with three sacks, and zero tackles for loss, to go along with one forced fumble.

With the win, the Saints leave with a record of 8-2 for the season, while the Falcons record for the season now stands at 3-7.
