Jones Put Up 212 Yards as the New York Giants Topped the Washington Football Team 23-20

Daniel Jones and the New York Giants topped the Washington Football Team in a tantalizing 23-20 victory, Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020 in FedEx Field in Washington. The Giants’ win was helped by a rushing game that produced 166 yards and one rushing touchdown, and by a 212 yards and one touchdown effort by Jones.

Jones helped the Giants in this victory by attempting 34 passes and completing 23 of them. This led to a final QB production of 212 yards, no interceptions and one touchdown for the game.

Wayne Gallman Jr and Alfred Morris led the rushing game for the Giants. Gallman Jr rushed for 68 yards from carrying the football 14 times. Gallman Jr was helped by Morris who carried the football nine times for a total of 67 yards. In the passing game, Jones was most successful throwing the ball to Sterling Shepard and Austin Mack. Shepard caught six passes for a total of 39 yards, while Mack contributed with 72 yards from four passes.

The Giants’ defense contributed to the win with two sacks, two forced fumbles, two tackles for loss, and scored zero defensive touchdowns.

For the losing team, Alex Smith finished the game completing 24 of 32 passes to lead the way for the Football Team. This performance by Smith led to a QB rating of 78.30, and game stats of 325 yards, three interceptions and one touchdown.

The rushing game for the Football Team was led by J.D. McKissic and Antonio Gibson. For the game, McKissic rushed for 17 yards from carrying the football three times. Meanwhile Gibson carried the ball 6 times for a total of 20 yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Football Team included Terry McLaurin and Cam Sims. McLaurin caught seven passes for a total of 115 yards, while Sims contributed with 110 yards from three passes.

For the game, the Football Team defensive effort yielded one forced fumble, one tackle for loss and five sacks. This was not enough to help their team to a victory.

With the win, the Giants leave with a record of 2-7 for the season, while the Washington Football Team slipped to 2-6.
