Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers narrowly defeated the New York Giants in a nail-biting 25-23 victory, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020 in MetLife Stadium in New York. The Buccaneers’ win was helped by a rushing game that produced 81 yards and zero rushing touchdowns, and by a 279 yards and two touchdowns effort by Brady.
Brady helped the Buccaneers in this victory by attempting 40 passes and completing 28 of them. This led to a final QB production of 279 yards, no interceptions and two touchdowns for the game.
The Buccaneers deployed a rushing game led by Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones. For the game, Fournette carried the ball 15 times and rushed for 52 yards, leading to no touchdowns. Jones supplemented by carrying the ball seven times for a total of 23 yards. In the passing game, the Buccaneers’ top receivers were Mike Evans and Jaydon Mickens. Evans caught five passes for a total of 55 yards, while Mickens contributed with 36 yards from five passes.
Contributing to the victory was a defensive line stats of three sacks , zero forced fumbles, one tackle for loss, and zero defensive touchdowns for the Buccaneers.
For the Giants, Daniel Jones ended the day having completed 25 of 41 passes, leading to 256 yards, two interceptions and two touchdowns. His performance resulted in a QB rating of 74.80.
The Giants’ rushing game was led by Wayne Gallman Jr and Alfred Morris. For the game, Gallman Jr carried the ball 12 times, rushed for 44 yards, and one touchdown. Morris supplemented and carried the ball a total of eight times for a total of 28 yards. Meanwhile Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard were the top 2 aerial passing targets for the Giants. Slayton caught five passes from Jones for a total of 56 yards, while Shepard contributed with 74 yards from eight passes.
In their loss, the Giants defense contributed with one forced fumble and two tackles to go along with two sacks and zero defensive touchdowns. This production from the Giants defense was not enough help get a win.
After this game, the Buccaneers improved to a record of 1-0, while the Giants dropped to a 0-1 record. After the win, the Buccaneers now have a 1-0 record, compared to the Giants who now have 0-1 record.
