Led by Goff, the Rams Held on Against the Cowboys by a Nail-Biting 20-17 Win

Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams held on against the Dallas Cowboys in a nail-biting 20-17 victory, Monday, Sep. 14, 2020 in SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The Rams’ win was helped by a rushing game that produced 153 yards and two rushing touchdowns, and by a 275 yards and no touchdowns effort by Goff.

Goff helped the Rams in this victory by attempting 31 passes and completing 20 of them. This led to a final QB production of 275 yards, one interception and no touchdowns for the game.

The Rams deployed a rushing game led by Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown. For the game, Akers carried the ball 14 times and rushed for 39 yards, leading to no touchdowns. Brown supplemented by carrying the ball 18 times for a total of 79 yards. In the passing game, the Rams’ top receivers were Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. Woods caught six passes for a total of 105 yards, while Kupp contributed with 40 yards from four passes.

On the defensive side of the football, the Rams produced zero forced fumbles, zero tackles for loss, three sacks and no defensive touchdowns.

On the losing side of the game, Dak Prescott of the Cowboys ended the day with one touchdown, along with 266 yards, no interceptions, and a 92.50 passer rating.

The rushing game for the Cowboys was led by Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. For the game, Elliott rushed for 96 yards from carrying the football 22 times. Meanwhile Pollard carried the ball 2 times for a total of 10 yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Cowboys included CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper. Lamb caught five passes for a total of 59 yards, while Cooper contributed with 81 yards from 10 passes.

Although their team lost the game, the Cowboys defense ended the game with one sack, and zero tackles for loss, to go along with zero forced fumbles.

With the win, the Rams leave with a record of 1-0 for the season, while the Cowboys record for the season is now 0-1.
