Led by Wilson, the Seahawks Topped the Falcons by a Hard-Fought 38-25 Win

The Seattle Seahawks topped the Atlanta Falcons in a hard-fought 38-25 win, Sunday, Sep. 13, 2020 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. They deployed a rushing game that produced 84 yards, one rushing touchdown, to support a Russell Wilson performance of 322 yards and four touchdowns.

Wilson finished the game completing 31 of 35 passes, to lead the way for the Seahawks. He ended up with an overall QB rating of 143.10, coming from a performance that included 322 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions for the game.

The ground game for the Seahawks saw Chris Carson carrying the football 6 times, and Carlos Hyde helping with rushing the ball seven times. The two rushers produced 21 yards and 23 yards respectively in a winning effort. The passing game for the Seahawks had Wilson throwing the football to DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett as his most productive targets. Metcalf caught four passes for a net gain of 95 yards. The secondary target (Lockett) caught eight passes for a net contribution of 92 yards.

The Seahawks were helped by a defensive effort that resulted in two sacks, and two tackles for loss, to go along with zero forced fumbles, with no defensive touchdowns.

Meanwhile Hill carried the ball 3 times for a total of 12 yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Falcons included Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Jones caught nine passes for a total of 157 yards, while Ridley contributed with 130 yards from nine passes.

In a losing effort, the Falcons defense contributed with three sacks , one forced fumble, three tackles for loss, and zero defensive touchdowns for the game.

The Seahawks walked away from the game with an improved seasonal record of 1-0. The Falcons on the other hand, dropped to 0-1 for the season.
