The Bears Narrowly Defeated the Buccaneers in a Thrilling 20-19 Win

The Chicago Bears narrowly defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a thrilling 20-19 win, Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 in Soldier Field in Chicago. They deployed a rushing game that produced 35 yards, one rushing touchdown, to support a Nick Foles performance of 243 yards and one touchdown.

Foles contributed to this win by completing 30 of 42 passes, finishing the game with 243 yards, one interception, one touchdown and a QB rating of 83.70.

The Bears deployed a rushing game led by David Montgomery and Ryan Nall. For the game, Montgomery carried the ball 10 times and rushed for 29 yards, leading to one touchdown. Nall supplemented by carrying the ball zero times for a total of zero yards. In the passing game, the Bears’ top receivers were Cordarrelle Patterson and Allen Robinson. Patterson caught three passes for a total of 38 yards, while Robinson contributed with 90 yards from 10 passes.

With one forced fumble, zero tackles for loss and three sacks , the Bears got just the defensive help it needed to get the win.

For the losing team, Tom Brady finished the game completing 25 of 41 passes to lead the way for the Buccaneers. This performance by Brady led to a QB rating of 86.70, and game stats of 253 yards, zero interceptions and one touchdown.

The rushing game for the Buccaneers was led by Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones. For the game, Fournette rushed for zero yards from carrying the football no times. The Bears walked away from the game with an improved seasonal record of 1-0. The Buccaneers on the other hand, dropped to 0-1 for the season.
