The Bills Topped the Jets in a Gritty 27-17 Win

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills topped the New York Jets in a gritty 27-17 victory, Sunday, Sep. 13, 2020 in Bills Stadium in Buffalo. The Bills’ win was helped by a rushing game that produced 98 yards and one rushing touchdown, and by a 312 yards and two touchdowns effort by Allen.

Allen helped the Bills in this victory by attempting 46 passes and completing 33 of them. This led to a final QB production of 312 yards, zero interceptions and two touchdowns for the game.

Zack Moss and Devin Singletary led the rushing game for the Bills. Moss rushed for 11 yards from carrying the football nine times. Moss was helped by Singletary who carried the football nine times for a total of 30 yards. In the passing game, Allen was most successful throwing the ball to Stefon Diggs and John Brown. Diggs caught eight passes for a total of 86 yards, while Brown contributed with 70 yards from six passes.

The Bills were helped by a defensive effort that resulted in three sacks, and six tackles for loss, to go along with three forced fumbles, with no defensive touchdowns.

For the losing team, Sam Darnold finished the game completing 21 of 35 passes to lead the way for the Jets. This performance by Darnold led to a QB rating of 75.30, and game stats of 215 yards, one interception and one touchdown.

The rushing game for the Jets was led by Frank Gore and Le’Veon Bell. For the game, Gore rushed for 24 yards from carrying the football six times. Meanwhile Bell carried the ball 6 times for a total of 14 yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Jets included Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder. Perriman caught three passes for a total of 17 yards, while Crowder contributed with 115 yards from seven passes.

In a losing effort, the Jets defense contributed with three sacks , no forced fumbles, two tackles for loss, and no defensive touchdowns for the game.

After this game, the Bills improved to a record of 1-0, while the Jets dropped to a 0-1 record. After the win, the Bills now have a 1-0 record, compared to the Jets who now have 0-1 record.
