The Las Vegas Raiders topped the New Orleans Saints in a gritty victory of 34-24, Tuesday, Sep. 22, 2020 in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. For the win, Derek Carr threw for 282 yards, and three touchdowns. The Raiders also relied on a rushing game that produced 116 yards and one rushing touchdown.
Carr helped the Raiders in this victory by attempting 38 passes and completing 28 of them. This led to a final QB production of 282 yards, no interceptions and three touchdowns for the game.
The Raiders deployed a rushing game led by Jalen Richard and Josh Jacobs. For the game, Richard carried the ball two times and rushed for 26 yards, leading to one touchdown. Jacobs supplemented by carrying the ball 27 times for a total of 88 yards. In the passing game, the Raiders’ top receivers were Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards. Renfrow caught three passes for a total of 37 yards, while Edwards contributed with 42 yards from two passes.
The Raiders were helped by a defensive effort that resulted in no sacks, and five tackles for loss, to go along with no forced fumbles, with zero defensive touchdowns.
Compared to Carr of the Raiders, Taysom Hill of the Saints threw for zero yards with zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions, completing 0 of 0 passes, for a 39.60 passer rating.
The rushing game for the Saints was led by Latavius Murray and Alvin Kamara. For the game, Murray rushed for 14 yards from carrying the football three times. Meanwhile Kamara carried the ball 13 times for a total of 79 yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Saints included Deonte Harris and Tre’Quan Smith. Harris caught three passes for a total of 23 yards, while Smith contributed with 86 yards from five passes.
Although their team lost the game, the Saints defense ended the game with three sacks, and no tackles for loss, to go along with no forced fumbles.
The Raiders walked away from the game with an improved seasonal record of 1-0. The Saints on the other hand, dropped to 0-1 for the season.
