Taylor finished the game completing 16 of 30 passes, to lead the way for the Chargers. He ended up with an overall QB rating of 75.40, coming from a performance that included 208 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions for the game.
Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley led the rushing game for the Chargers. Ekeler rushed for 84 yards from carrying the football 19 times. Ekeler was helped by Kelley who carried the football 12 times for a total of 60 yards. In the passing game, Taylor was most successful throwing the ball to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Allen caught four passes for a total of 37 yards, while Williams contributed with 69 yards from four passes.
The Chargers were helped by a defensive effort that resulted in three sacks, and three tackles for loss, to go along with no forced fumbles, with no defensive touchdowns.

The rushing game for the Bengals was led by Giovani Bernard and Joe Mixon. For the game, Bernard rushed for seven yards from carrying the football one time. Meanwhile Mixon carried the ball 19 times for a total of 69 yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Bengals included Tyler Boyd and A.J. Green. Boyd caught four passes for a total of 33 yards, while Green contributed with 51 yards from five passes.
In a losing effort, the Bengals defense contributed with two sacks , one forced fumble, three tackles for loss, and zero defensive touchdowns for the game.
With the win, the Chargers leave with a record of 1-0 for the season, while the Bengals record for the season is now 0-1.
