The Los Angeles Rams Decimated the New England Patriots 24-3

The Los Angeles Rams decimated the New England Patriots in a laughable victory of 24-3, Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 in SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. For the win, Jared Goff threw for 137 yards, and one touchdown. The Rams also relied on a rushing game that produced 186 yards and one rushing touchdown.

Goff contributed to this win by completing 16 of 25 passes, finishing the game with 137 yards, one interception, one touchdown and a QB rating of 74.90.

The ground game for the Rams saw Cam Akers carrying the football 29 times, and Darrell Henderson helping with rushing the ball two times. The two rushers produced 171 yards and five yards respectively in a winning effort. The passing game for the Rams had Goff tossing the football to Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp as his most productive targets. Woods caught five passes for a net gain of 32 yards. The secondary target (Kupp) caught five passes for a net contribution of 33 yards.

The Rams were helped by a defensive effort that resulted in six sacks, and two tackles for loss, to go along with zero forced fumbles, with one defensive touchdown.

In a losing effort for the Patriots, Cam Newton attempted 25 passes and completed 9 of them. This performance resulted in 119 yards, one interception, zero touchdowns and a passer rating of 53.90 for the game.

The Patriots’ rushing game was led by Damien Harris and Sony Michel. For the game, Harris carried the ball 11 times, rushed for 50 yards, and zero touchdowns. Michel supplemented and carried the ball a total of seven times for a total of 22 yards. Meanwhile Damiere Byrd and N’Keal Harry were the top 2 aerial passing targets for the Patriots. Byrd caught five passes from Newton for a total of 48 yards, while Harry contributed with 49 yards from three passes.

For the game, the Patriots defensive effort yielded no forced fumbles, two tackles for loss and one sack. This was not enough to help their team to a victory.

After this game, the Rams improved to a record of 9-4, while the Patriots dropped to a 6-7 record.
