The Pittsburgh Steelers showed up Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 in Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and ran away the Cincinnati Bengals by a embarrassingly lopsided 36-10 victory. The Steelers deployed a rushing game that produced 44 yards and no rushing touchdowns, to go along with a total team offensive output of 377 yards. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger passed for 333 yards and tossed touchdowns to Chase Claypool (twice), Diontae Johnson, and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
The ground game for the Steelers saw James Conner carrying the football 13 times, and Benny Snell Jr. helping with rushing the ball three times. The two rushers produced 36 yards and 12 yards respectively in a winning effort. The passing game for the Steelers had Rudolph throwing the football to JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson as his most productive targets. Smith-Schuster caught nine passes for a net gain of 77 yards. The secondary target (Johnson) caught six passes for a net contribution of 116 yards.
Contributing to the victory was a defensive line stats of four sacks , two forced fumbles, four tackles for loss, and zero defensive touchdowns for the Steelers.
Joe Burrow led the Bengals in a losing effort with 213 yards, completing 21 of 40 passes, zero interceptions, and one touchdown, for a QB rating of 76.40.
The Bengals’ rushing game was led by Giovani Bernard and Samaje Perine. For the game, Bernard carried the ball eight times, rushed for 30 yards, and no touchdowns. Perine supplemented and carried the ball a total of seven times for a total of 48 yards. Meanwhile Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins were the top 2 aerial passing targets for the Bengals. Boyd caught six passes from Burrow for a total of 41 yards, while Higgins contributed with 115 yards from seven passes.
In their loss, the Bengals defense contributed with no forced fumbles and one tackle to go along with zero sacks and zero defensive touchdowns. This production from the Bengals defense was not enough help get a win.
After this game, the Steelers improved to a record of 9-0, while the Bengals dropped to 2-6-1.
