Wilson and the Seahawks Topped the Dolphins in a Hard-Fought 31-23 Victory

The Seattle Seahawks topped the Miami Dolphins in a hard-fought victory of 31-23, Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020 in Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. For the win, Russell Wilson threw for 360 yards, and two touchdowns. The Seahawks also relied on a rushing game that produced 98 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Wilson contributed to this win by completing 24 of 34 passes, finishing the game with 360 yards, one interception, two touchdowns and a QB rating of 112.40.

The ground game for the Seahawks saw Chris Carson carrying the football 16 times, and DeeJay Dallas helping with rushing the ball two times. The two rushers produced 80 yards and eight yards respectively in a winning effort. The passing game for the Seahawks had Wilson throwing the football to DK Metcalf and David Moore as his most productive targets. Metcalf caught four passes for a net gain of 106 yards. The secondary target (Moore) caught three passes for a net contribution of 95 yards.

The Seahawks’ defense contributed to the win with one sack, one forced fumble, two tackles for loss, and scored no defensive touchdowns.

For the Dolphins, Ryan Fitzpatrick ended the day having completed 29 of 45 passes, leading to 315 yards, two interceptions and zero touchdowns. His performance resulted in a QB rating of 66.40.

The rushing game for the Dolphins was led by Myles Gaskin and Matt Breida. For the game, Gaskin rushed for 40 yards from carrying the football 10 times. Meanwhile Breida carried the ball 3 times for a total of nine yards. For the passing game, the top receivers for the Dolphins included Isaiah Ford and DeVante Parker. Ford caught four passes for a total of 48 yards, while Parker contributed with 110 yards from 10 passes.

In a losing effort, the Dolphins defense contributed with two sacks , one forced fumble, three tackles for loss, and zero defensive touchdowns for the game.

After this game, the Seahawks improved to a record of 1-0, while the Dolphins dropped to a 0-1 record. After the win, the Seahawks now have a 1-0 record, compared to the Dolphins who now have 0-1 record.
