Ronda Rousey Is Still the Highest-Paid Female WWE Wrestler By Far

Ronda Rousey is one of the most popular female athletes in the world. After a dominant UFC career, she packed her bags and moved to the WWE. In the WWE, she’s not only been one of the most popular female wrestlers in the promotion, but she’s also become the highest-paid female wrestler, too.

When it comes to women’s MMA, fans and analysts consider two women to be GOATs (the greatest of all time). The first is Amanda Nunes, and the second is Rousey. While Nunes completely dominated Rousey when the two fought, Rousey is considered by some to be the GOAT for different reasons.

She started competing in the UFC in 2013, and she, along with the other women at the time, were the first women to fight in the UFC. Women’s MMA was still a relatively new thing at the time, and some fans didn’t give it much respect. That was, at least, until Rousey stepped in and proved just how dominant she was in her field.

Rousey completely dominated every woman in her way, and she quickly became one of the most famous female athletes in the world. Her fights were selling well and she was a household name in a way that few other fighters were. Of course, after Nunes knocked her out, she retired from the UFC to join the WWE, but her popularity allowed her to easily become the best-paid female wrestler in the WWE.

Ronda Rousey’s WWE salary

Since Rousey was so popular, it only made sense that the WWE paid her what she was worth. And it turns out, she’s worth quite a bit of money. In fact, during her relatively short run in the WWE, she’s already making about $1.5 million a year. This was her salary in 2018 however. The WWE pays its wrestlers more based on a variety of other factors. So, it’s safe to say that she made much more than that in her short WWE run.

While this is a significantly smaller salary than what the most popular male wrestlers make, Rousey is brand-new to the WWE. Other brand-new wrestlers don’t make that much money. It’s clear that the WWE is only paying her that much due to her fame and popularity.

That said, Rousey’s salary is significantly bigger than what other women in the WWE make. Women in the WWE weren’t taken very seriously up until recently, as women were relegated to wrestling in lingerie and other revealing clothes. Nowadays though, the WWE is taking women’s wrestling more seriously, and that also means that the WWE is paying women more.

As Wrestle Talk revealed, most women in the WWE don’t get paid much, although the WWE is taking them more seriously. Many women will earn a six-figure salary. But Rousey is the only woman making a seven-figure salary like some of the more popular male wrestlers.

For example, the more popular women’s wrestlers, such as The Bella Twins, have a salary that’s in the $300,000 range. Other wrestlers, mostly the lesser-known ones, are making about $80,000 a year. The second-highest-paid female wrestler is Charlotte Flair, and she makes about $550,000 a year. This means that Rousey is making almost three times more money than the second best-paid female wrestler is.

Of course, one of the differences between Rousey and the other women in the WWE is the fact that Rousey hasn’t wrestled in over a year now. While Rousey has a big salary, she still needs to work to get paid. So, right now, the other women are probably being paid more than she is.
