Colin Cowherd Thinks Russell Wilson Might Be Headed to Chicago Because the Bears Are Making an Offer Too Good to Refuse

Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd is one of the most polarizing media figures in sports and isn’t liked by many people. However, Chicago Bears fans are rooting for Cowherd to be right for the first time since he supposedly has inside knowledge about Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

On his show called The Herd, Colin Cowherd revealed some information about the Bears’ pursuit of Russell Wilson, and Chicago fans are praying that it’s true.

Colin Cowherd’s NFL sources tell him that the Bears are trying to create a Godfather offer for Russell Wilson. While the one-time Super Bowl champion hasn’t requested a trade from the Seahawks, reports have surfaced that Wilson isn’t happy in Seattle and wouldn’t be opposed to playing for the Bears, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, or Las Vegas Raiders.

Wilson has a no-trade clause in his contract. The Cowboys won’t trade for the superstar QB since they signed Dak Prescott to a long-term deal. However, the Bears, Saints, and Raiders are in the market for a star signal-caller, especially Chicago, a franchise with no history of having good quarterbacks.

Cowherd says the Bears can give the Seahawks five first-round picks for Wilson, one of the best players in the NFL. However, NFL teams can only trade draft picks for the next three drafts. The most the Bears could give Seattle is three first-round picks for Wilson.

The Bears are desperate for a quarterback of Wilson’s caliber, so general manager Ryan Pace should do whatever it takes to get the dual-threat QB in Chicago. If that means parting ways with three first-round picks and maybe two impact players, then so be it.

The second part of Colin Cowherd’s Russell Wilson report involved the New York Jets getting in on the action between the Bears and Seahawks. New York has the second overall pick in the 2021 draft. Since they will likely draft Justin Fields out of Ohio State, Cowherd wouldn’t be surprised if Sam Darnold is on the move.

If the Seahawks trade Russell Wilson to the Bears for a Godfather offer, Colin Cowherd could see Seattle trying to get Sam Darnold from the Jets. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is a big fan of Darnold, who played his college football at USC.

The Bears don’t have a quarterback to send to the Seahawks for Wilson. Carroll, whose relationship with Wilson is said to be on the rocks, may be interested in getting Darnold–the third overall pick of the 2018 draft–and jumpstarting his career.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears have “prioritized making a run” at Russell Wilson, who threw 40 touchdowns in 2020 and racked up 4,212 passing yards. Chicago would instantly become a Super Bowl contender with Wilson since the team’s defense is elite and the offense has solid playmakers in Allen Robinson, David Montgomery, Darnell Mooney, and Tarik Cohen.

The NFL world is waiting to see what happens with Russ and Deshaun Watson

Houston Texans gunslinger Deshaun Watson has requested a trade but is still on the team. Meanwhile, after being left off the Seahawks’ season ticket letter, Russell Wilson could be traded any day now.

It would be insane if two franchise quarterbacks get moved in the same offseason. Bears fans are hopeful Ryan Pace trades for Watson or Wilson, as they can’t stomach watching Mitchell Trubisky or Nick Foles again.
