Stephen Curry Can Pull a Michael Jordan Move with Under Armour

While NBA star Steph Curry is enjoying his time away from the court, he may get his own brand. According to reports, the three-time NBA champion could have his own brand under the Under Armour umbrella.

If this happens, Curry will join Michael Jordan, as he has his Jordan Brand with Nike.

Stephen Curry has become one of NBA’s elite players

Curry has played 11 seasons in the NBA, and during his time in the league, he has blossomed into one of the league’s best. As a rookie, Curry proved many NBA scouts wrong by having success with the Warriors. Before he came into the league, scouts predicted that he would not have much success because of his size. In his rookie season, he averaged 17.5 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. He was named to the All-Rookie First Team in 2010.

Curry adjusted well to the NBA game, and his shooting served as a plus to his game. Throughout his career, Curry improved his game in multiple areas. Not only did he excel in shooting, but he also became one of the game’s best floor facilitators. In 2014 he made his first All-Star team, and he averaged 24 points, 8.5 assists, and 4.3 assists that season, and the Warriors were becoming one of the top teams in the league.

The next season the Warriors won the NBA title for the first time since 1975. Curry was named NBA’s MVP during the regular season. He went on to win the MVP award for the second consecutive time the next season, and the Warriors were the best team with the best player. Curry went on to help lead the Warriors to back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018. When his career is over, Curry will finish as one of the top shooters in the history of the NBA. He has put together a Hall of Fame type career, and he is still adding to his resume.

Stephen Curry’s relationship with Under Armour

Curry signed with Under Armour in 2013 after four seasons in the NBA. Nike was in the picture to possibly sign Curry to a shoe deal. After an embarrassing presentation by Nike, Curry decided to go with Under Armour, who offered him a little under $4 million a year. Under Armour made the right decision to go after Curry.

In 2015, Curry signed an extension with Under Armour, which runs through 2024. With the success that Curry’s had on the court, he’s helped the Under Armour brand in a significant way. Nike lost out on Curry, and Under Armour took a chance on him, and so far, that decision is paying off.

Stephen Curry could join Michael Jordan in a significant way

Curry may soon make a big move with Under Armour. According to Let’s Go Warriors, Curry can have his own brand. Does this sound familiar? Former NBA legend Michael Jordan originally signed with Nike and then created his own brand under Nike’s umbrella. Curry may find himself in the same situation that Jordan was in.

His new signature shoe, the Curry 8, is projected to hit the market later in August. If Curry does get his own brand, it will allow him to sign other players and grow his brand. This would be another big step in Curry’s career.
