So, who is the guy that’s Curry’s brother-in-law? That player is Damion Lee. Before making the jump to the NBA, the 27-year-old played his college basketball at Drexel University and Louisville University. He went undrafted in the 2016 draft and joined the Miami Heat for the 2016 NBA Summer League. In September 2016, Lee signed with the Boston Celtics. After being waived by the Celtics after the preseason, he was acquired by the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League. He suffered a season-ending surgery and played in 16 games averaging 17.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.

In 2017 Lee was traded to the Santa Cruz Warriors. After spending a season in the G League, he signed a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors. In his first season with the Warriors, he played in 32 games and averaged 4.9 points. This year, before the season was halted because of the coronavirus, Lee saw a lot more playing time.

During the 2019-20 season, Lee played in 49 games and started in 36 of them. He played a key role for the Warriors as he averaged 12.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, which were all career-highs. The Warriors struggled this year due to injuries with Curry and Klay Thompson. The team had a lot of young talent this season, and Lee stepped up a lot.

In 2018, Lee married Sydel Curry, the sister of Steph. The two dated for about five years before they decided to tie the knot. Steph welcomed his teammate into the family with open arms. The Curry family is very close to each other, and they are always supporting one another. You will see the family at Steph and Seth’s basketball games cheering their hearts out.

Lee is now a part of that family, and it’s not every day that you’re teammates with your brother-in-law. On the court, their teammates and off the court they are family. During the holidays, the Curry family has three NBA players sitting around the table as well as a former NBA player.

Lee has made it known that his NBA career and family situation or separate. Just because he’s a part of the Curry family doesn’t have anything to do with him being a member of the Warriors. In an article from The Mercury News, Lee talked about his career and being a part of the Curry family.

“I’ve gone through a lot of during my career to get me to this point and I don’t want anyone in the media, whether it’s here, whether it’s across the country, across the world, to disrespect me, disrespect my family, disrespect the front office here in Golden State for believing in me for knowing my abilities, knowing what I can do,” Lee said. He is focused on becoming a better NBA player and does not want to deal with any distractions.
