Steph Curry’s Mother Fined Him for Committing Turnovers During Games

Stephen Curry has emerged into one of the best players in the game. The three-time NBA champion has taken his game to the next level ever since he entered the league.

When his career is over, he will go down as one of the best shooters, if not the best, of all-time. Curry’s range is unlimited, and it’s tough guarding him. Curry has a close relationship with his parents, and during his career, his mom took money from him.

A look at Stephen Curry’s career

Curry came into the league in 2009, and his game has grown ever since. Despite him not being the biggest guy on the court, he is one of the most talented players out there. During his rookie season, he averaged 17.5 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. He was named to the All-Rookie First Team after his first season.

Throughout the course of his career, he transformed into a star and transformed the game using his impressive 3-point shooting. As Steph was making a name for himself, he would launch 3-point shots far from behind the 3-point line. That was the norm for him, and people were amazed at how he would hit these shots.

Defenders had difficulty guarding Curry because he could shoot and handle the ball well and also get to the rim. When he first joined the Warriors, the team was not one of the best teams in the league, but over the years, the Warriors evolved to one of the best teams in the league.

Steph Curry becoming one of the best

During the 2012-13 season, Curry began to come into his own as a player. It was his fourth year in the league, and that was the first time he averaged more than 20 points during his career. He took off after that. Three years later, he won his first NBA championship, and then he led the league averaging 30.1 points per game a year later.

He went on to win two more championships with the Warriors as the team became a dynasty and one of the best teams in the history of the NBA. Fast forward to this season, and Curry faced some adversity. When Curry injured his wrist at the beginning of the 2019-20 season, he had to miss a good portion of the season. The Warriors were struggling during the season because they were already without Klay Thompson, and now Curry does down. It was reported that Curry would likely miss the majority of the season. But he did make a return before the season was halted due to the global pandemic.

How Steph Curry’s mom fined for committing turnovers

Curry is known for his flashy passing during games, and sometimes that has caused him to make careless turnovers. Well, for his mother, she was not a fan of that. Sonya Curry, the mother of Steph, came up with an idea regarding his turnovers. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Sonya came up with the idea that involved money. She was fed up watching him turn the ball over and decided that when Curry committed more than three turnovers, any turnover after three, he would have to give her $100.

In an interview on Stephen Jackson’s and Matt Barnes’ podcast, Curry talked about how his mom would fine him. That is a pretty good way to get money from your child if they’re not doing something right. In Curry’s case, the turnovers had to stop, and he wasn’t trying to pay his mother anymore. But that did stop, so Curry didn’t have to worry about that anymore.
