The 1 Sign Odell Beckham Jr. Isn’t ‘Going Anywhere’

The 2019 season has continued to unravel for the Cleveland Browns, seeing them almost fall out of the playoff picture entirely. That has pushed forward chatter around the team concerning an uncertain future with the team for star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. due to his reported unhappiness with the team and the direction that it’s headed.

It led to more rumors being spread this week that he is eyeing a potential trade some of the more prominent franchises in the league. It didn’t take long for him to respond that new dialogue around him.

More Odell Beckham Jr. rumors

The Browns’ chances of reaching the playoffs have dwindled significantly heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. At the same time, the trade talk around Beckham Jr. has continued to ramp up another notch.

Additional reports have surfaced on Wednesday that the Pro Bowler is eyeing a trade over the offseason with either the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots among a few other teams. The Steelers were one of the franchises that he reportedly told the players to get him.

The new chatter comes just over a week after it was revealed that Beckham Jr. had been telling opposing teams to get him. He had also publicly voiced uncertainty about his future with the franchise beyond the 2019 campaign.

With all that in mind, Beckham Jr. has once again responded to the chatter around him.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s response to rumors

Rumor mill has once again ramped up around Beckham Jr. concerning his reported desire to be moved from the franchise.

It hasn’t taken long for this talk to make its way back around to the star wideout as he voiced that he has no desire to leave the franchise and that his decision to buy a house in Cleveland should exemplify just that, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

“Yeah, we’re going to be here,” he said. “We’re going to do it again, what we felt like it should have been and correct all the little mistakes, and all the if we would have did this games. It’s just too good. I didn’t buy a house here to sell it.

“I know people have said I didn’t sign and trade them before but I didn’t buy a house here to up and leave it and do renovations on a house and build a dog house.”

The fact Beckham Jr. has bought a home in Cleveland may say a lot and also not much at all. However, his usage of his home as reasoning for why he’s committed to the Browns indicates he is hopeful for a long-term future.

At the same time, there is much credence to these rumors as several notable reporters such as Jay Glazer of Fox Sports that are reporting on his pleas with other teams. There is somewhere in-between of all this that lies the bottom line truth to the matter.

What lies ahead of Odell Beckham Jr.

The situation around the Browns is up in the air, with their first significant decision being what they decided to do with head coach Freddie Kitchens.

Cleveland has dealt with internal dysfunction along with a lack of success that could lead them to part ways with Kitchens at the end of the season. The front office will also likely dive further into Beckham Jr.’s future with the team to see how much he’s committed to the franchise for the long haul.

In the meantime, the narrative of uncertainty around his future in Cleveland will remain throughout the next few weeks into next offseason.
