The Denver Broncos Have a Special Talent in Rookie Receiver KJ Hamler

The Denver Broncos have a talented rookie wide receiver in KJ Hamler. Hamler had an impressive career at Penn State and was one of the top receivers in college football. The Broncos saw something they liked in Hamler and decided to give him an opportunity to play in the NFL.

Hamler is the type of player that can go on and have a successful career in the NFL, and he can make an impact for the Broncos.

KJ Hamler was one of Penn State’s top players

When Hamler arrived at Penn State, he redshirted his first year due to an ACL injury he suffered the previous year. During his redshirt freshman year, he quickly made an impact on the team. He spent time as a kickoff/punt returner as well as a receiver. In his first collegiate game, he returned a kickoff for 52 yards against Appalachian State, which was a big momentum boost for the team. He also had a 15-yard touchdown reception late in the game.

Hamler was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after a game against Ohio State, where he had four receptions for 138 yards, including a 93-yard touchdown. He finished with 13 receptions for 308 yards and four touchdowns through five games in his first season. Hamler took on a bigger role in his second season with Penn State.

During the 2019 season, he was the top receiver on the team and made numerous big plays throughout the season. Whenever the team needed a catch, they knew they could depend on Hamler. He finished the season with 56 receptions for 904 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Hamler was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team after his impressive performance.

KJ Hamler’s dream came true when the Broncos drafted him

Hamler always wanted to play in the NFL, and when the Broncos selected him in the second round, that dream finally came true. Growing up in Pontiac, Michigan, Hamler experienced a lot and had a tough upbringing. He witnessed crime throughout his neighborhood at a young age, and football was an outlet for him to get away from that.

Hamler worked hard to get to where he is today, and he knew that the hard work would pay off one day. Not too many people can play in the NFL, and Hamler is making sure that he does not take his opportunity for granted. At 5-foot-9, he’s not the tallest receiver out on the field, but he knows how to make plays, and he’s very athletic.

Hamler made his NFL debut in Week 2 when the Broncos were playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. He finished the game with three receptions for 48 yards as the Steelers defeated the Broncos 26-21. Early in the season, the Broncos suffered a big blow at the receiver position when Courtland Sutton suffered a torn ACL and will not return for the remainder of the season.

With Sutton out, other receivers need to step up for the Broncos, and Hamler is one of them. He put together an impressive performance in his first NFL game against the Steelers. Going forward, Hamler has the opportunity to make a name for himself. Hamler can be a big help for the offense with his speed and playmaking abilities. Though he’s undersized at his position, he’s physical and is not afraid to make big plays. Don’t be surprised if Hamler has a breakout year during his rookie season.
