Tiger Woods’ $20 Million ‘Privacy’ Yacht Hosts 9 Employees, 3 Jet Skis, and a Scuba Decompression Chamber

Tiger Woods is one of the winningest golfers ever. At this point, he’s also one of the world’s most famous celebrity athletes, with star power few peers can rival. While Woods’ fame has certainly made him a rich man, it also makes it hard for him to enjoy the privacy most of us take for granted. That’s where Woods’ impressive yacht enters the picture.

Appropriately enough, Woods named his yacht “Privacy.” Let’s look at Woods’ net worth and the details of his incredible $20 million yacht.

Woods went pro all the way back in 1996. In the subsequent quarter-decade, he has amassed a fortune which few of his peers in the sports world can rival. Celebrity Net Worth claims that, in that time, Woods has enjoyed career earnings of more than $1.5 billion. He’s managed to hold onto a decent proportion of those earnings, with a current net worth of $800 million.

Even at this late stage of his golfing career, Woods earns around $62.3 million per year, according to Clutch Points. Only a small part of those earnings, $2.3 million, stem from Woods’ golf salary. The rest is revenue from his numerous sponsorships with businesses like Bridgestone, Rolex, Nike, and Upper Deck. Those sponsorships helped Woods become the highest-paid golfer of all time.

Over the years, Woods certainly hasn’t been shy about spending his income. From mansions, to fancy cars, to private jets, Woods has indulged himself in plenty of high-profile purchases. One of the most conspicuous of all is his luxury yacht, “Privacy.” According to Golf, Woods spent a whopping $20 million on the yacht back in 2004.

The boat is 155 feet long and has three floors, including an observation deck up top. The boat has five bedrooms and can comfortably sleep as many as 10 people — excluding the crew. In that department, it takes nine people to fully man Woods’ boat. Staff quarters account for another four bedrooms, although those are presumably far less luxurious than the others.

Woods keeps his boat moored in Oyster Bay, and frequently chooses to sleep on it when playing in majors on Long Island. Of course, “Privacy” is also more than capable of covering ground, with an operating range of 4,000 nautical miles. It also comes stocked with an impressive array of amenities.

The deck features a jacuzzi large enough to fit eight people. There’s also a full gym and, for anyone who decides to do a little scuba diving, a decompression chamber. The yacht also houses three jet skis for when guests decide to have a little fun.

Comparing Woods’ yacht to other sports celebrities’

Woods is far from the only famous athlete to own a yacht. Yet Privacy is indeed one of the most impressive yachts owned by a celebrity, with a size and amenities package that few of his peers’ boats can rival. For instance, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady’s yacht is a mere 53 feet long, which is barely one-third the size of Woods, reports Fox News.

International soccer star David Beckham has a yacht that clocks in at a mere 94 feet, according to The Sun. Meanwhile, 26 North Yachts reports that retired Bulls star Scottie Pippen owns a 100-foot yacht.

His former co-star — and reigning GOAT — Michael Jordan also owns a yacht. Jordan’s is one of the few that manages to dwarf Woods’ yacht. Playmaker reports that Jordan bought the 230-foot yacht in 2019 for a staggering $80 million.
