Together, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf Have a $205 Million Net Worth and 30 Grand Slam Wins

The sports world has seen its fair share of power couples. Nomar Garciaparra and Mia Hamm are one couple who comes to mind. If you’re looking for the single most successful sports couple ever, however, it’s hard to argue with Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf. Both tennis stars were top competitors before retirement. But how did their union come to be?

Let’s look at their careers, how they met, and how they’ve managed to secure a combined net worth of $205 million.

Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi’s legendary tennis careers

The only women’s tennis player who can hold a candle to Graf’s dominance is Serena Williams. No one else comes close. Graf was a wizard on all playing surfaces. She won each of the four major tournaments no less than four times, making her the only player in history to accomplish the feat.

From the 1987 French Open to the 1990 French Open, Graf reached 13 consecutive Grand Slam finals. She has 31 Grand Slam finals overall in her career, finishing third all-time in that category. She won seven times at Wimbledon and six times at the French Open.

Agassi wasn’t quite as dominant as his wife, though he was one of the best. Earlier in his career, he was known for his high talent level and equally high penchant for partying. Agassi settled down later in his career to become one of the top stars in tennis.

Along with winning a career Grand Slam, he’s also the first men’s player in history to win a “Golden Slam,” which is a Grand Slam title plus an Olympic gold medal). In a shocking display, he reached the 2005 U.S. Open final before falling to Roger Federer. Agassi retired in 2006.

Together, he and Graf, who’ve been married since 2001, combine for 30 career grand slams.

How Agassi and Graf met

Graf and Agassi knew each other from the tennis circuit. According to the Irish Examiner, at one point Agassi viewed pursuing Graf as his “Holy Grail.” After his marriage to actress Brooke Shields ended, he pursued Graf, sending her a note that read:

“I want no misunderstandings … I’m sure you’ve heard by now about Brooke and me (splitting). I think you’re beautiful and fascinating and I have a tremendous amount of respect for what appear to be the pillars of your life. Can we have lunch or dinner or coffee, take a walk, I don’t care — I just want to get to know you better.”

That may seem straightforward and a bit corny. But it was also successful. The two met up for dinner in California around the same time Graf was set to play her final career match. They ended up getting married and have been together ever since.

Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf’s combined net worth estimates that Agassi’s net worth is $175 million while Graf’s is around $30 million, giving the two a combined net worth of about $205 million.

While the two are involved in many business endeavors, they’re currently global ambassadors for the Swiss watchmaker Longines. Graf and Agassi have been associated with the watchmaker for over a decade.

In 2019, Longines released 10 luxury sets to raise money for the couple’s charitable foundations: the Andre Agassi Foundation and Graf’s Children for Tomorrow. They raised more than $300,000. According to Agassi, their decision to become ambassadors with brands is about pursuing what means the most to them:

“I don’t know what ambassadorship looks like in context but, for us, if it doesn’t inspire us on a very personal level, then it doesn’t interest us.”

It’s clear that while both Graf and Agassi have been enormously successful in their tennis careers, they also care a great deal about giving back.
