Francis Ngannou Opponents

Francis Ngannou has made some huge claims for his next boxing match, as the Cameroonian heavyweight selects four potential opponents.

Francis Ngannou Picks Four Possible Opponents For Next Boxing Match

The former UFC heavyweight had a baptism of fire in the world of boxing, facing Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in his only two boxing matches.

Many believed the Cameroonian beat the Gypsy King in their 12-round war, with the MMA star dropping Fury and just losing via decision.

However, his second venture in the boxing ring was less impressive, as Ngannou was knocked out by Joshua in devastating fashion.

Since then, Ngannou has returned to the sport of MMA and clinched the PFL heavyweight title with a first round KO victory over Renan Ferreira.

Despite finding more success in the Octagon and suffering a crushing defeat in his last boxing display, Ngannou has revealed that he wants to return to the boxing ring in his next fight.

The PFL heavyweight champion has selected four possible opponents and included the likes of Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder.

Ngannou said (Via Sports Book Review): “A fight against Rico Verhoeven could happen, but I don’t know. As I said, I have a few fights left. I focus on very few fights, not on options.

“There’s a lot of options. Verhoeven is an option. Derek Chisora is an option. Wladimir Klitschko could be an option. I want a boxing fight next. I’d prefer a boxing fight next, maybe Deontay Wilder.”

A return to the boxing ring could be for a multiple of reasons, wanting to add another performance to distract from Ngannou’s defeat to Joshua or purely the money involved.

The former UFC heavyweight champion has also been rumoured with a return to the UFC to fight one of Jon Jones or Tom Aspinall – however given his relationship with the company that could be a hard set of negotiations.
