Hello FPL fans! My name is Pingreen, and I’m back to share my top FPL tips for Gameweek 7 and beyond, right here on SportsCasting. I finished 700th in the world in 2022/23 and ranked 1,330th last season, so make sure you take my advice seriously.

The bad news is this is the last weekend before yet another International Break. The good news is you’re in the right place to make sure you go out with a bang. You’re still thinking about the bad news, aren’t you?

The captain choice really boils down to two players for me this week: Erling Haaland or Bukayo Saka. Both have very favourable fixtures, with Haaland taking on Fulham at home and Saka also at home to Southampton.

You can argue that Saka has the better fixture. Southampton have conceded more real goals and expected goals than Fulham this season. That being said, I think there’s an even bigger argument that Haaland is the bigger freak of nature. With 10 goals already this campaign and averaging 0.91 npxG per 90 – if it’s close between the Norwegian and someone else, I’m probably going to back City’s number 9.

If you’re reading this, you’re clearly a smart FPL manager. You’ve made the conscious decision to follow my advice, and that makes you switched on. So, I shouldn’t have to tell you that Gabriel Magalhães, at home to Southampton, is one of the best defensive picks you’ll find this season.

Arsenal had the best defence in the league last season, and they’re looking just as solid this year. On top of that, every time Bukayo Saka puts in a corner, Gabriel attacks it like his life depends on it. Even in a tough away fixture at Manchester City, where Arsenal conceded twice, the Brazilian still managed to come away with seven points after converting one of those corners. It wasn’t the only one he nearly scored either.

With clean sheets likely, plenty of attacking threat from set-pieces, and favourable fixtures, Gabriel is only rivalled by Trent Alexander-Arnold as the best defender in the game at the moment.

Pingreen’s FPL Gameweek 7 Tips
